As the nights draw in and the leaves start to fall, it's time to start a new prayer thread. Read, pray, and post your own prayer requests.

Praying in particular, at this time, for...

... amberlight - for her continuing good health, and for her work raising awarenss of ASD in churches;
... Bluetinkerbell - for the last weeks of her pregnancy to go smoothly, for her peace of mind as she prepares to meet this baby and remembers her beautiful Sterre, and for her vocation;
... CharlotteCollinsislost - for her relationship with her H to improve with the help of counselling;
... Cupoftea - for little Beatrice and the whole family;
... Dontsteponthemomeraths - for her new job to go well;
... DutchOma - for Bob's health to be stable and for his appetite to improve, and for continued support and respite for DO;
... expatinscotland - for the whole family to receive all the love and suppor they need after the loss of their beautiful Aillidh;
... FriendofDorothy - for her pregnancy, and for a difficult work situation to be resolved;
... HaveALittleFaith - for her pregnancy, and for various work possibilities to be resolved for the best;
... jan2011 - for her H to be more sensitive to her needs and to those of their dd, and for jan to believe in herself (as we all believe in her);
... Kaykat - for her H to understand that his behaviour towards her has been unacceptable and to respect her wish for them to separate, for their ds to know that he is safe and loved at this difficult time;
... madhairday - for better health;
... MaryBS - for peace of mind and happiness;
... PositiveAttitude - for her family and their mission, for health and well-being, new friends and no rodents/mosquitoes; and for her DD1 to respond well to medication and to feel happier very soon;
... Redwhiteandblueeyedsusan - for her to know peace and comfort following her loss of her dad, for ongoing issues with her children's school, and for her ex to treat her with the respect she deserves;
... SESthebrave - for school choices;
... and for all who visit this thread - regulars, occasional posters and lurkers; those who post and those whose prayers are known only to God.

A prayer of St Richard of Chichester
Thanks be to you our Lord Jesus Christ
for all the benefits which you have given us,
for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us.
Most merciful Redeemer, friend and brother,
may we know you more clearly,
love you more dearly,
and follow you more nearly,
day by day.
AMEN

Praise God indeed for feeling in his thumb! Fantastic news! It'll be a long haul rehab wise but it sounds like the worst is over.

Delighted to hear you're gradually improving mhd. Praying you can be discharged for Christmas!

Tuo praying its just fatigue and that you feel better after some sleep.

jan I hope and pray your parents can be firm with the in-laws when they meet.

I had a lovely time this evening - carol singing round the hospital for patients! Many of them seemed to enjoy it and it made the staff Xmas Grin!

OComeAllYeFaithBaby · 18/12/2012 22:46

Oh Mome the main thing is to reinforce hand washing after loo usage. Otherwise they go from bum to hand to mouth and continually reinfect! Not fun but the ovex is excellent!

DontstepontheBaubles · 18/12/2012 23:17

Lol at death to all threadworms Grin

Horrid seeing it wriggling out of his bottom in the torch light. Still feeling itchy. Changed bed sheets, pjs, bathed them and hoovered. I'm traumatised I tell ya Wink

blackeyedsusan · 19/12/2012 07:27

please pray. i feel horrendous but need to get the childen to school to see santa this aafternoon. I just took some painkillers but I now feel sick so am bit concerned about driving.

DontstepontheBaubles · 19/12/2012 07:36

Oh BES. I'm praying Sad

MaryBS · 19/12/2012 08:07

Prayers BES, you can do this! :)

Another tip for threadworms is to wear pants under PJs until the infection is definitely gone.

DutchOmainthestable · 19/12/2012 09:19

Another one from me is a goodly smear of zinc and castor oil cream. Stops them wriggling, therefore decreasing the itch and the need to scratch.

DontstepontheBaubles · 19/12/2012 09:48

Yes DS doesn't wear pants under his pjs. I think it's possibly sensory. He gets hysterical when I try. I made him have a thorough bath first thing, to get rid of any eggs and I'll change his pjs again tonight I think. How many days after Ovex until they die?

My washing machine is busy this morning.

I've decided to work from home today, as they have the open morning at his Nursery and all the 12 new starters for Jan will be in with their Mum's and possibly Dad's too. Adults have to stay. Plus the usual 13 kids. He cannot cope with loud, busy, chaotic environments. The space in there is limited. He'd be meltdown tastic. The teacher, when I suggested I keep him at home today said: "Well I'd never suggest you kept him off, but I do think it's a good idea". LOL

cloutiedumpling · 19/12/2012 11:10

I remember the first time I found threadworms in DS2's nappy. I shrieked. The worms started to move a little more slowly after 24 hours and seemed to die off after about 2 or 3 days. You need to treat again after a set period of time according to the instructions inside the packet. If you don't, the eggs that were laid 3/4 days ago (ie a couple of days before treatment) may hatch out in a few weeks as the medicine only kills the live worms and not the eggs. Why does no one warn you about this before you have kids? Oh, and I'd tell the nursery. The chances are that if one child has it then so do many more. It can help if the nursery are very vigilant about handwashing after the toilet and before eating any food.

dingdongMadHairDayonhigh · 19/12/2012 11:11

Oh lovely faith - there were carol singers on my ward the other night and they really cheered me up!

Praying for you all as I read. May you know Gods blessing and comfort.

Feeling stronger and looks like a definite for Friday. Still coping with a lot of pain but on heavy strength painkillers so in a slight daze too!

cloutiedumpling · 19/12/2012 11:24

Great to hear you are getting home Friday. Fantastic news. Hope the pain gets better soon.

OComeAllYeFaithBaby · 19/12/2012 11:32

Oh fantastic that you should be discharged Friday mhd! Praying the pain start to settle. Xmas Grin

DontstepontheBaubles · 19/12/2012 11:53

Another Mum has already told the teacher for me but it seems my School has a policy of not sending a letter to the parents unless lots of children get it Hmm

The Pharmacist told me to give the infected child a further dose in 2 weeks.

blackeyedsusan · 19/12/2012 12:46

yay, children at school. Blush a window rattling burp seemed to ease the sickness a bit. they got to school on time. (just) though I have had to drive back and deliver ds's lunch and party stuff.

blackeyedsusan · 19/12/2012 18:29

oh give me wine strength. it is a very long evening. tears and tantrums and kicking the back of the seat because i would notput the windscreen wipers on... it wasa not raining. whining constantly. he has smacked and kicked me, and thrown chewed banana on the floor and keeps messing with the computer... is it bed time yet?

cloutiedumpling · 19/12/2012 19:02

It sounds like endoftermitus. My DS2 is pretty bad too. I've had full on tantrums about the most ridiculous of things. He finishes at lunchtime tomorrow. Thank goodness.

blackeyedsusan · 20/12/2012 07:40

he went to bed exactly one minute after that post. Xmas Grin

I am up and waiting for ibuprofen to kick in. hot and shivery til it does.

better go get the children.

janglebells2013 · 20/12/2012 09:14

hi guys... just quickly dropping in, its been very busy, but BES thinking of u, nothing worse than being sick and trying to look after the dc

i had this on my heart to say a few days ago but life took over... esp thinking of Mome and Bes in mind. just that i really believe God can bring the right people in to our lives - keep praying that God will bring supportive people who can provide help and support with the kids and in His timing i believe he will make a way for you to get it, and also about the fellowship - i have felt also isolated in church, especially since becoming a single parent, but in the past when i have prayed for christian friends God has provided them (even if not immediately) and i think we need to pray that God will make a way for us to get the fellowship we need.

love to all

dingdongMadHairDayonhigh · 20/12/2012 10:17
