Any Muslim (or non Muslim) swimming ladies who've worn an 'Islamic' swimsuit like Burqini?

Salaam ladies,
I really want to go snorkelling but I think I have forgotten how to swim so I want to take some lessons. The local pool does ladies only lessons and I emailed them asking if It would be ok for me to wear a Burqini as i know the general public can see into the pool area. I sent them a link with the spec and a lady got back to me saying it seemed really good. Great. Has anyone worn one whilst swimming? I'm abit nervous tbh as I'd rather learn in a tighter number but as it's not totally private I don't want to take any chances when getting out of pool etc. Online reviews are pretty useless as they focus on the modesty aspect, rather than actual performance so any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Catty x

Not Muslim but don't like showing my legs so usually put a pair of swim-material leggings under my boring Speedo cossie! Seen ladies in this and this at the pool as well

What a nasty, horrible post.
I'm not muslim but have been brought up to respect people, their religions, their culture, their lifestyles and their choices.
Cattyness asked a perfectly sensible question and gets a full-on assault - please crawl back under your rock and take your uncalled for opinions with you.

Cattyness - I hope you find some helpful advice and enjoy getting back into the water.

Foghorn, what a nasty post.

Women can wear whatever they like to swim, topless or full-body suit!

Who are you to judge others and tell them they should be ashamed of themselves?

The OP doesn't need your 'pity'.

Thankyou everyone for your responses :)

Crescent, i don't know how i missed this nigella article! i wonder if the material soaks up too much water as it looks as though it's dragging abit iykwim. what do you think? there are so many on the market that i'd love one with the least amount of absorbancy but if you are happy with yours i will get that too!

Mariam, thanks for those links, i'm looking into the alnafees one

thefoghorn - what a predictable response. yawn.

Foghorn how terribly nasty. Actually I think I'd prefer to wear something other than I normal swimsuit as I'm sure would many others. Lots of us don't feel comfortable getting half naked in front if a load of strangers, I'm not sure why that offends you. Well done you though for for being so tolerant of others perspectives Hmm

I wear a modestkini, can't remember where from but if you google modest swim wear that should help. Good luck op!

Not muslim but I think it is a great idea and would consider wearing something similar if I was on a beach somewhere really hot. I have very fair celtic skin and always seem to burn, even if I put on factor 50, it is always just too easy to miss a bit.
