A prayer thread for Cupoftea's Beatrice - please sign up

Cupoftea's beautiful daughter Beatrice was born in September this year. She has a number of serious medical problems and disabilities. This was a complete shock for Cupoftea and her family and they have been utterly inspirational in the way they've faced every challenge this has bought. Beatrice is a very special and loved little girl. Her name means 'voyager' and as she voyages through her life we need to get behind her and her mum and dad and give them every support we can. A few months ago we had a prayer thread on here where we prayed for about an hour with folks taking five minutes each or praying as and when they can. This week Bea has been in hospital with bronchiolitis. The most recent updates is 'They're still in hospital, Bea has had a temperature on and off and is still on oxygen, it's going between 0.3 and 0.5 litres. They have started some anti-biotics just incase. Dr Death (Beatrice's consultant - always looks on the bleak side) is living up to her nickname and being characteristically awful'

I really feel moved this morning though to say that we need to gather together and pray for Beatrice and her family. I know that prayer works Smile

So points for prayer:

For Beatrice's recovery

For strength for her remarkable parents as they care for Bea and her sisters.

For wisdom and compassion from the medical staff

For Bea's sisters and the wider family.

For thanksgiving because today is Bea's 3 month birthday

In order to have time to gather people in I think maybe we should aim for prayer between 8 and 9pm tonight but please just join in as and when you can. If prayer isn't your thing please hold Bea in your thoughts. I know the support Mnet can offer has meant a lot to Cupoftea so lets keep on with it.

I had to do my time in the car driving back from dropping off dd1.

For God NOTHING is impossible. He knows everything about Bea and about us and we are in His hands and NOTHING is beyond those hands.

Thinking of Bea and cupoftea and the family xxx

LottieJenkins · 17/12/2011 19:39

Thinking of Bea and praying for her. I was in Dorset when she was born and went into a Mariners Church and put a prayer pebble in water for her. Tomorrow I will go to my local church and light a candle for brave, battling beautiful baby Bea.

Ateallthepurpleones · 17/12/2011 19:46

I believe in the power of collective prayer too. I will light a candle for little Bea the family at 8 tonight and send lots of love and positive thoughts.

PlasticFlamingo · 17/12/2011 23:44

Prayers for beautiful Bea and her inspirational family. I am in the wrong time zone to pray between 8-9pm but will light a candle tonight.

TIDDLYMUM · 17/12/2011 23:56

One here from me x

brilliant :) Will add mine esp tomorrow morning in quiet time in church. Our friend said in church last week a fantastic sentiment (which I'm sure you all know but it was so lovely to be reminded that I thought I'd share) "we may not know all the people we pray for in person, but God does. All our energy goes where it is intended to go."

Northernlurker · 18/12/2011 09:19

I love this thread Smile

Update on Bea yesterday:
'Another update on Bea, she managed on 0.2litres o2 overnight she had to be put back to 0.3litres this morning which was a bit of a blow. However Cup text me this afternoon and Bea was coping on 0.125, huzzah, way to go Bea. She is such a little star '

Well done Bea. I'll do the same tonight. I have a list of people I send love and prayers to and I will add her and the family.

Northernlurker · 18/12/2011 21:36

Cupoftea reports Bea is settled and pink tonight Smile We need to pray she can get home for Christmas!

SarahFim · 18/12/2011 22:27

Yep, still praying for this little Christmas cherub!

Northernlurker · 20/12/2011 16:57

Test results show Bea had pneumonia but her chest is now clear. An oxygen supply is on order for home because Cupoftea is very rightly asserting Bea will be home for Christmas. Dr Death has got her act together and done some helpful paperwork. So all good - lets keep praying! Grin

For Bea to get home for Christmas
For her parents - that they have all the energy they need. We know they have the strength their daughter needs - they just need energy to keep moving forwards
For her sisters - staying with supportive inlaws atm.

I linked to this on cupofteas update thread. We had it our Carol service last weekend and it reminds me of our prayers for Bea because this is why we are praying -because we worship a wonderful saviour who is with us. Right here, listening and answering our prayers. God with us.

What a lovely idea, Northern, thank you.

I am not very good at setting aside time to pray between 8-9 (will be in a swimming pool!) but am going to make a special effort to say some words for dear Bea over the next few days.

Could someone link to the update thread on here please.

Thanks

Northernlurker · 24/12/2011 09:58

Update here. We need to keep praying for Bea. We need to thank God for Bea and pray for her mum and dad and all the family. Personally I'm praying for a miracle because nothing is impossible with God.

'Arise, shine for your light has come and the Glory of the Lord rises upon you.' (Isaiah 60)

'For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.' (Isaiah 9)
