So, I wondered if anyone would be interested in a meet up at one of these women's days, in March next year - information here

They are incredible, inspiring days - can't recommend highly enough. More on the 'lively' side in terms of worship but nickel I reckon you'd love it (and lots of women bring little babies, don't tend to bring older dc as nothing for them but there are always babies :)) I just thought it might be a great opportunity for some of us to meet up.

They are in London, Harrogate or Poole. I go to the Harrogate one usually but am thinking the London one may be better for this - could meet at the train station for eg, although could do that with Harrogate too.

What do people think - anyone interested at all? Anyone want to come and sing GK and wave flags with me? Grin (except it's unlikely there will be any GK or flags in sight :( Grin )

grrrr. Was hoping to go to the Harrogate one, but DD in a show that day so I can't. I'm away for the weekend in the middle of March so really can't do the 10th as well. Next year maybe? Would love to spend some more time with you MHD, and meet the rest of you!

Bluetinkerbell · 23/01/2012 09:14

oooh well if it starts at 9.30am that would be a very early start indeed Wink

Bluetinkerbell · 23/01/2012 09:21

there is a train from Wolverhampton like every 20mins in the morning. Trainfare seems quite cheap atm, like £7.50 single! That is leaving before 7am, as after 7am the trainfares go up quite radically! Shock

madhairday · 23/01/2012 12:03

We could meet at B'ham then Blue.

Panda - such a shame! Will you be at NW Newark? I must book it - keep saying that everyday!!

Oh do you mean W'ton to London? I could do it that way as well if that works.

lostmywellies · 23/01/2012 12:03

Think I'd like to come, then - but I can't get to Birmingham early enough from where I am. What area of London is it in?

Bluetinkerbell · 23/01/2012 12:13

lost you could always come and stay at ours the night before if you'd like?
yeah W'ton to London is the same train as the one that leaves in B'ham!

madhairday · 23/01/2012 14:32

Lost was going to say the same thing - you're more than welcome to stay at mine :)

Hmm. Maybe I'm being stupidly over optimistic about this. I can barely walk 3 minutes for the school run. I am looking at what I used to be able to do.

But it might be a possibility I think if I can get a taxi from Euston to the venue - the cost is only about £11 so no problem really, it's the whole tube hopping thing and the long walks in between that will be a complete no no for me, I think.

One of these days I will stop being proud and start using a scooter. But that wouldn't help for train and tube journeys in any case.

I don't know. It will be a major long day with travelling either side. I really want to go. I think I will book in the hope I will be well enough and if not try and give my ticket away. Please pray I will be!!!

Hm. Just thought of something. Yesterday I received an invitation to go to the day in Harrogate on the 3rd March. A lady in a church in a nearby village is arranging it. A bus will be leaving here at 6:30 in the morning and then take everyone back again in the evening. Maybe there is a similiar set up where you are that can take you to London? It would still be a long day with a lot of travelling but hopefully less walking and tube hopping? Just a though...Confused

gingercurl · 23/01/2012 18:40

thought

lostmywellies · 23/01/2012 21:01

You're both very kind! Which one of you would be the later start? :o

I could also go a different route... but would be nice to have the company on the journey. Or maybe stay the Friday night in London but travel back on the Saturday - that looks possible.

madhairday · 23/01/2012 21:19

oooh ginger - are you thinking of going? The Harrogate one is run by some of my favourite people ever :) I would go there if I could but busy on March 3rd - the speaker there looks amazing as well - the widow of the pilot of the first plane to crash into the WTC.

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 23/01/2012 21:43

Right... mhd would it be better to go up on the Friday so we don't have to get up that early?
I'm willing to chip in for taxi so you don't have to tube hop!

madhairday · 23/01/2012 21:48

Going on the Friday is an option - a girls night in London? Grin We could poss find a cheap travelodge somewhere? Will have a think.

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 23/01/2012 22:04

Girls night sounds fab :)
but cheap would have to be necessary. :(

gingercurl · 23/01/2012 22:15

Don't know mhd. If I'm honest, I'm not sure I'd like it. I'm not very good in "super-Christian" contexts with nowhere to retreat to if got a bit too much and I usually don't fit in in all-women contexts either. Too much of an engineering brain, I think.

madhairday · 24/01/2012 18:36

Fair enough ginger :) We're all different and appreciate different ways of being/worshipping etc. I'm a bit extrovert in that I love being in big crowds. My dh is more like you - and he's got an engineering brain too Grin

Just been talking to my friend who is also going, and she has said she would quite like to drive down - she has a seven seater, and said she would be happy to give anyone a lift from here - so lost and Blue if you could get to mine or to Telford station we could all go down together in the car - a lot cheaper too if we all chip in for petrol. Or you could both stay the night at mine on the friday - that way we get a cheap girls night!! Then set off early on the sat with my friend - we are trying to get a couple of others too - so we will have 7 hopefully and it will be a great time I am sure. What do you think?

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 12:14

oooh sounds fab! and indeed way cheaper than train tickets/ hotel etc!

madhairday · 25/01/2012 12:31

Right shall we book our tickets? :)

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 12:34

Yes please :)

madhairday · 25/01/2012 13:04

Yay! Did you want me to book for us both or are you happy booking your own online - then you'll get the details etc sent to you?

Lost - are you in?

SES - you still interested in meeting up there? Anyone else? :)

OP posts:
lostmywellies · 25/01/2012 23:11

I'd love to, but... dh says he may need to be away then. He was looking into the possibility of coming back early on the Saturday... Hmm Truth is I never know what his plans are going to be till the last moment; they're always changing.

So, please reserve a seat for me in the car and pm me if someone else wants it. I'll have to leave booking to nearer the time - if at all... :(

madhairday · 26/01/2012 10:57

Aww lost - will reserve a seat for you. How frustrating for you - tell dh you need this day! It muist be hard though for you with things never certain.
