Strange but very real dream?

I think there are a few of you on here that know a thing or two about dreams so I thought I'd ask

Last night I had the most bizarre but very real dream and tbh it's quite baffled me!

I dreamt that I was pregnant and I had gone for a scan. They told me that I was pregnant with 5 babies! Dh and I then rushed out to buy a big pushchair and lots of cots! It then skipped to me having a caesarean and getting my babies. It skipped again to life being very normal with 5 babies (?????) but I was having niggling pains where my caesarean scar was.

When I woke up I had a pain in my stomach where it was in the dream!

Now, tbh I thought this month that I was pg. I had all the signs (feeling sick, sore boobs and strangely no pmt) but then AF came on Monday. I was a bit disappointed but not too bothered. I was thinking yesterday about going to see my gp as I still feel sick.

Could it just be that because I have been thinking about it, I've dreamed it and it's become a bit more exaggerated or is it a sign or something deeper?

I hope someone can help because it really has confused me and I'm walking around all lost this morning, lol!

Thanks

Sometimes these dreams are so vivid and so real that they hang around for ages, and really niggle at you, but I don't think there's anything too deep and meaningful about it - it's probably just the fact you've been thinking so much about babies recently.

I know you'd probably like it to be more meaningful, but I just think you've been stressing over it and it's coming out in your dreams.

laligo · 12/10/2005 11:31

i find a really vivid dream can haunt me all day and is still there when i close my eyes that night. it takes another night for it to "settle" IYSWIM.

also when i was TTC i had all kinds of crazy baby dreams.

you could conceivably be pg despite the appearance of AF. or the dream could just mean you want more babies!

Thank you WWB.

It was very real. Will have to sort this sicky thing out though.

to me it speaks that you have alot of unspirit children who are interested in you.

They do hang around checking you out during ovulation and early conception.

HuggyBear · 12/10/2005 11:50

Your dream is a very common one and usually represents a new beginning or a new creation in your life. It is generally very positive and indicates growth in your life!

Because it was a multiple pregnancy it may mean that you feel over whelmed sometimes at the moment, what ever change is happening or what ever growth you are going through, your mind is asking questions like how am i going to manage and thinking of the practicle side of things. The caeserian is invasive and not something alot of people would choose to have. do you feel pressured in anyway or feel that someone is interferring in your life?

Is a commom dream for someone starting a new job/study or a new phase in there life, and your not sure whether its what you really want to do.

kuoni · 12/10/2005 11:56

I also think it is not surprising as being pregnant and thinking about life, consequences, enlarging your family etc would result in this type of dream.
Papillon - your post is fascinating me - please could you explain you thoughts in more detail. Genuinely interested in you opinion

kuoni · 12/10/2005 11:57

sorry - meant to type "thinking about being pregnant" not "being pregnant"...

Nbg · 14/10/2005 09:20

Thanks for your posts guys, they are really interesting.

Papillon, Your post has intrigued me too and Huggybear yours was quite true in some respects.

Just to let you know. I went to the GP's and she is convinced I'm pg and has sent my urine sample off for pg test. I get the results after dinner today.
I'm just not convinced since I've had an AF but that dream really did get to me.

Thank you so much for posting.

you do sound pg when was last period

Nbg · 14/10/2005 10:39

It's just finishing now. Started on Monday, which is why I'm not totally convinced.
I'm a bit worried though if it's not a pg because what could be causing the sickness? Gp ruled out Vertigo, cold/flu, stomache upset.

Am just a bit confused.
