Can anyone analyse my dreams?

I have two types of dreams that I get really regulary.

  1. I go abroad to visit my mum and she threatens to not let me leave. We argue, i run away and I wake up relieved that I do not live with her.
Mum and I do not speak, We haven't spoken for over two years.
  1. I have had this dream for many years. I am walking along in a room but the room has lots of holes in the floor. I have to dodge the holes and try my best not to fall down them. I remember I think to myself in my dream that they are not safe and shouldn't be there.

Any ideas anyone?

For 1, I'd say that you still have a fear that something about your mum may be able to "trap" you, even though in theory you are now free of her. Maybe there are aspects of your childhood that you still haven't "freed" yourself from, and you need to look at why you still feel they could trap you? I assume you had issues with your mum to have split from her completely, so perhaps there are aspects of that situation which you still need to work through so that you can move on with your life.

2 - rooms and houses I think tend to be a representation of your life. So you feel that your life has some patches which are not safe and you know that they shouldn't be there causing a danger to you. But you haven't managed to actually sort out the holes, you just spend your life trying to avoid them, so the dream keeps recurring as your subconscious points out they are there and a hazard. If you could work out what things in your life are the "holes" where something is missing, it would maybe help with that one?

Are you feeling insecure in life? It is interesting re the holes, these are in the floor. If we think of this another way, it might be that your 'foundations' are not solid? Thus showing as holes in the floor?

  1. You are afraid that when you see your mum she will treat you like a child and 'trap' you in your pre-adult state
  2. You have a draught under your bed
