Praying as I read through.

I'm a lot better today, I'm still a bit tender but I'm nowhere near as bad as I was yesterday. God is very good. Me and DH have really been praying into this and I'm feeling very protected right now. Thank you for all your prayers and support of late.

NL MHD I'm going to see if I can meet up with someone whose helped me before with a couple of issues. You're right though, it does help to talk it through and I guess I've not done that yet. I don't think I've really processed how big of an impact the birth had on me.

DO Thank you for that. Oh I thought you would like to know that a certain blanket goes everywhere with us and has been very well complimented on.

PA Lovely to hear from you and I pray that all will be well.

There is a lot going on with all of us here at the moment. I was just reminded of the song 'Amazing Grace'.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

I know life is sometimes very difficult and at times we can't see the end of it all. But God is bigger and stronger than all of our problems and we can rest in him. He has brought us this far and he will take us the rest of the way as well.

DutchOma · 17/11/2010 19:44

Bob's recovery really is a miracle of the Lord. He went to the gym this afternoon (would you believe it) but I have been warned not to take my eye off the ball, so please go on praying for his continuing recovery. I discovered one of the nurses on the ward is a Christian, that is really very encouraging.

madhairday · 17/11/2010 22:07

That's so great DO! :)

Hermya, lovely words, you are so right. Glad you're going to talk it all out with someone, and so pleased things seem a bit better today. Being a new mummy is not easy and is such a rollercoaster ride, even without extra complications! You're doing great. xx

CazandBelle · 17/11/2010 23:04

Great news DO :D

Hermy glad your feeling better.

Sorry anyone I've missed, v quick visit.

DH has had a headache since Monday (which was expected as a side effect of procedure) but today especially is has been getting worse and worse, and he is getting very miserable. If he is no better in the morning then the ward will readmit him to try and do something to help. Which is awful for me because I don't feel I can ask for time off on my first full day in work... (only being doing mornings up until now), my Mum will take him if I can't but please pray that he starts to feel better.

MrsCadwallader · 18/11/2010 08:12

Prayers of thanks for a friend who gave birth to her second baby last night :) Her first was conceived after years of IVF treatment. Her new DS2 was an unplanned surprise, conceived naturally. God is very very good Grin

Delighted Bob is so much improved DO. May God support you both through his continued recovery.

Prayers for everyone else too, esp caz's DH today - how is he?

Update on my friend with the broken leg - surgery went well and she was allowed home last Friday. She is very very tired, but has a well worked-out rota of friends for school runs etc :)

About the family at my church, someone asked when the baby is due. I believe it is January / February. Still holding the family up to our Father for his love and strength.

gingercurl · 18/11/2010 09:22

Praying for everyone as I read through.

I only spent a couple of hours at the hospital today. Bob had eaten all his biscuits, drunk nearly all the drink we brought in yesterday. I had some more of the pear juice that Walter got him, which is a bit thickened already so he can drink it easily. I also got him some biscuits. What else do you think I can bring him that doesn't need heating up?

mufti · 18/11/2010 18:35

DO - GRAPES, Cereal bars, dried fruit?

CazandBelle · 18/11/2010 19:52

Hi all. DH was readmitted to hospital this morning and put on a drip for 8 hours. He's been given loads of fluid and some drug to help him and he is so much better. Now talking instead of grunting and a lot more up and about again.

At dinner time we were told he would be in overnight, which selfishly had me in a panic because I dreaded the thought of being on my own overnight. Anyway, Mum said she would come and stay with me if he was kept in. I sound like a baby, but I've not been on my own overnight since Belle died and tonight wouldn't have been the right time to have the first one. Its too big a step.

Anyway, at 5pm Dr then said as long as his obs were stable and he was feeling ok when his drip finished (at 7pm) he could come home.

So home he is.

Thank you God for answering my prayers today, and for everyone who prayed for us.

CaptainDippy · 18/11/2010 20:37

Ooooh DO - nice cheeses and yummy crackers - that is what I would want anyway WinkSmile

Glad your DH is home Caz Smile Hope they can get to the bottom of it ASAP. Stay strong. xxxxx

Caz - that's not daft at all that you didn't want to be alone. It's very understandable - and if the situations were reversed I'm sure your dh wouldn't have been happy to be alone either. Glad he's home.

I feel carried by all of you - knowing that you and our friends at church are praying is so, so precious.

I told dh tonight that I was finding it so hard to pray - he has te same problem! It feels good to have said that. I also rang my sister. She's is having a hard time this week with some treatment being arranged and the side effects. The oncologist is not terribly helpful which is such a disappointment to me as an NHS employee. Please can you pray for the treatment, for their wedding a week on Saturday and for the oncologist to get his act together and behave like a human!

Thanks

WisteriaWoman · 18/11/2010 21:51

Dutch Oma - I recommend Complan - it comes in lots of different flavours and is really useful for building up strength. It worked for me after I came out of hospital and I had it between meals. Also how about a thermos of chicken soup (aka Jewish penicillin).Hope DB (dear Bob) is feeling a little better.

Caz - pleased to hear that DH was able to get home tonight. I find an empty house can be so upsetting at a tricky time. (TBH whenever DH is away I feel like I live in a house - when he and DD are here it becomes a home - am I bonkers?!)

Take care all

DutchOma · 19/11/2010 05:44

Caz, that is just so understandable that you don't want to be on your own overnight. Hope your husband keeps improving now he is home.
NL, so sorry about your sister and the treatment she is getting. The NHS is like the curate's egg, I'm afraid and we have the good and the bad of it over the past fortnight.

As far as food for Bob is concerned it's all got to be soft and not too chewy, soup I think with few or no bits is probably the best. I'll get a wide necked thermos from Wilko's today. My firealarm battery woke me up at 5 am, only been replaced a few weeks ago.

jaffacakeaddict · 19/11/2010 07:20

I've been reading through the thread and it is wonderful to see how God has answered prayer.

DO -glad hear that Bob is feeling better. Hope he picks up in strength soon.

PA - hope you get the results quickly.

Caz - hope your husband is feeling better soon.

Hermya - it's great to hear you are feeling better. It isn't too easy being a new mum, particularly if sleep deprivation is now taking its toll. It will get easier.

Prayers for all

amberlight · 19/11/2010 07:32

More prayers for all of you - for the tired, worried, ill, scared, exhausted, lonely or panicky. May God give us all strength for the day and peace for the night.

Caz, let us know how he is today?

DO, bananas?
NL, praying for your sister, and for the rest of you who are left worrying on her behalf...

gingercurl · 19/11/2010 09:28

DO, rice pudding (if he likes that sort of thing?)

Praying for all here.

CazandBelle · 19/11/2010 13:17

DH is doing much better today. He's been to the GP to be checked over again but he is so much more normal and like himself. :)

madhairday · 19/11/2010 14:04

Glad dh is a bit better Caz

DO hope you find some food B likes, does he like porridge type stuff? Or something like custard/yoghurt/angel delight? Hope he's doing ok today.

Keeping praying for everyone. PA how are you feeling now? Amber how's it going, and you Mary ? Also Hermya have been thinking of you.

love and prayers to all

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 19/11/2010 14:22

Hello everyone, friends' DS is feeling much better now, much less sore. I think hopefully back to school next week.

Now a little favour if you wouldn't mind - if you're on my facebook would you mind going to my videos and watching my Stuart Townend one?

It's the first time I've put one of them together - mostly need it checking for spelling errors (my video editing programme isn't the upgraded version so I can't spell check the subtitles Blush) - and any other comments.......

Thanks

notsofarnow · 19/11/2010 15:56

why do i feel like i'm seeing life through a vision of apathy - I would rather be anywhere than in the house where all the normal stuff neds doing and i can't be bothered to do it. Kids arguing do my head in, why cant i just be happy just feel likek this is me forever and am fed up of it!

amberlight · 19/11/2010 17:02

NSFN, plenty of prayers for you.

It's going gradually better day by day, thanks (so far). Been overwhelmed today by people's kindness again. Hoping I can be there for everyone else in turn.
