Sounds a bit odd, but looking in my food cupboard and realising that, despite everything, God continues to provide so much more than we need, always uplifts me and calms me. Also spending time in my allotment looking at the miracle of things growing from tiny seeds.

Also watching my children play with their friends (when they aren't all bickering.

One of the main ways, though, is through service, especially stuff I don't want to do, because then I have to rely on God for his help and realise that I am working in the spirit. Also, obviously, time spent in quiet prayer, particularly when I am out in the open, is always the best way to feel close to God, because, I believe, that He is right there with you, then.

I suppose that depends on what you mean by "spiritual".

I don't believe in God as I am Buddhist. For a spiritual uplift, I go to the temple for Chanting and meditate.

I also listen to classical and Buddhist music.

Tomorrow I am planning to go to the Temple to help with the weeding. Small but satisfying.

I just had to google christadelphian, thought I was pretty clued up but that was new to me!Smile

Gardening, also nature watching. A really big thing for me is cloud watching, I love looking up at cloud formations and imagining what they must look like from above. They make me feel the timelessness of creation...they were here long before me and will be here long after I'm gone...I feel very small, but also at one with eternity. It puts thing sin perspective fro me, especially when I'm anxious or out of sorts.

Smile Thanks everyone, yeah spiritmum ive had alot of people say that, strange to me as ive grown up within it, but ive heard so many people say "what's christadelphian?" its obviously far moreunheard of then we think! Love what you said about clouds - very thought inspiring! And yes, i see what you mean padmeHum small things sometimes are more rewarding then you think.
I think in your own way quiet prayer works well for spiritual uplift, i know my mum certainly agrees, i think she is just struggling to get this accross in words.
