Pug puppy litters please!

Hi all,

Im after a Pug puppy, (to go with the two old pugs I rescued 3 months ago-best decision ever!) but a quick google shows that its going to be hard work. Im guessing so many of these uber expensive pups are either stolen/from stolen origin, or farmed.

I dont mind where I have to travel in the UK, but I want a genuine healthy little dog.

Any ideas?

Thanks girls x

I would start by googling and finding out who the breed secretary is for the club in your area and contacting them they will know of (hopefully) good quality puppies availible.

I would bear in mind though that £1000 is about average for a pug.

You are right to be wary, the breed club, as has been said above, is your best bet.

Be prepared to wait, Pug litters are usually small, and be prepared to pay a decent price, although not be ripped off. The breed club will also tell you what to expect to pay for a puppy.

I am glad your two rescue pugs are getting on well.

Im expecting to pay £1000- £1500, does this sound about right?
Also, Ive seen pug x chiuaua (sp?), what do we think of these health wise?

I think Pug puppy prices are £1000 upwards, but not totally sure.

I wouldn't want to buy a cross bred puppy myself personally. Purely because the peopel that breed them usually aren't doing so for the right reasons and I don't chose to encourage this type of breeding.

If you want a crossbreed, why not go fro another rescue? We have a cracking little staff x lab (with a bit of something else, judging by his littermates, who he looks nothing like!) here. He is not at all what I would have looked for, but I am so glad I have him. He wasn't ever meant to stay here, but I wouldn't be without him now.

I saw 2 pug crosses on an online rescue site, they looked gorgeous. Go on, get those instead!

[[http://manytearsrescue.webs.com/dogslookingforhomes.htm here] You will have to scroll down to find them.

Lilly-Rose and Puddle are pug X beagles. They are really cute!

hmm, not sure why that link didn't work, lets try again!

Awww they are amazing! But, I just called Pug rescue, and there is a huge waiting list. However....the man I spoke to said I sounded ideal so he jumped me to the top of the list and gave me a number of one of the trustees who is fostering a little girl called Daisy. Ive just got off the phone to her (half hour!), and she said she will bring her over from Wirral to Glouester tomorrow for me to meet/home check etc!
Im so excited and pleased that they thought I sounded better than 'just a rehome'.
Now just to convince DH that 3 Pugs are no harder work than 2....

Aw, bless!

Good luck, I jope it all goes without a hitch and that you're soon the proud owner of yet another snub-nosed chubby darling.

Vallhala · 24/06/2010 19:19

Oh, bugger, I'll try hoping as well as attempting to jope it goes well, shall I?
