I was looking at staff videos on youtube like I do and found this, wanted to share it as it really spells out this dogs plight. Here
I am asked often if I will be breeding my female Staff as she is a blue, I won't be, there are too many in need of homes already.

Despite how many times I see this, in real life as well as in videos, I will never be able not to break down sobbing.

And I hope I never will. I don't ever want to become immune to what I see.

My last foster dog was a staffie. She's on my profile, a loving, affectionate lump settling into her new family's home, a dog who was due to be put to sleep on the day I rescued her.

It really is heartbreaking. I was so touched by the message this video gives out, these really are fantastic dogs that are having such a rough ride because of scaremongering by the media.

I think you are amazing for the work you do Vallhala, wonderful.

My woofer is a Staffy. He is more likely to sit on you and lick you to death than do anything remotely nasty.

And yet I'm surprised at how many people look at ME in disgust because of the breed of my dog.
Just because they are misinformed.

I volunteer at a local rescue centre and the most common type of dog in there is the staffie. In my year of volunteering I have NEVER met a bad one. I have however met staffies who are petrified of men, staffies with severe mange resulting in no fur, staffies who look bewildered and confused and staffies who are so think the ribs are visible. All these abused dogs still love humans which says a lot about the nature of the breed.

The video is heartbreaking - particularly Tammy's story.

There is no punishment severe enough for people who commit these crimes. It's not the dogs, it's the bloody owners, and some of them need shooting.

izzybiz, that's really kind of you. I'm sure that notalone would agree with me that it's a huge pleasure to be able to help dogs and amazingly satisfying when it all goes right. (So in my case I guess it's a bit of a selfish action!).
