This is the first time I've been in this topic but have been reading loads, somehow I think I might be here quite a lot from now on !

We've just got our first puppy and enjoying every minute. She's happy and friendly and settling in very well.

The one thing I wasnt prepared for though is the amount of poo she produces. Its only been 3 days and I feel as if I'm scooping for England.

What do you do with it ? Whats the best thing ?

I forgot to say. I have a field at the back of my garden so I pick it up and fling it - a bit like a shit javelin! (Not with my hand on a hand fork). I had a vision then of what people may think I am capable off!

Hmm, just had a quick look on Google for "Flush dog poo down the loo" and it says it's ok to flush dog poo down the loo but not cat poo.

My dogs usually do their poo while we're out on walks so I just bag it up and put it in the allocated dog poo bins. If they do any in the garden though I flush it down the toilet so I felt awful when I read that you shouldn't.

Still have the guilt despite it being ok to flush the dog poo as I've been flushing the cat poo away too.

RunForFun ~ You can get biodegradable poo pick up bags. These are made of corn.

I have a dustbin outside in the garden. It is lined with an old dog food plastic sack. Everyday I scoop the poop into small plastic bags and put it in the bin. On dustbin day, I heave this big sack of shite into my black wheely bin and away it goes with my normal rubbish.

Not sure if this is the right way to dispose of it, but no idea what else to do.

Petsmart have a thing called the "biotoilet", which is probably what Sluberdegullion was talking about. It's pretty good and saves digging multiple holes.

My pup does the most amazing volume of poo. He usually poos several times on each walk (he gets taken out three times a day) and in the garden too. He has Hills, so it's not cheap food, although he does seem to eat a lot of leaves/grass too. I just flick the poo into the flowerbeds as it has very little smell to it (it's mostly very dry where I live). I'd like a poo composter type bin, but I've not seen one here.
