Suggestions on a plan to move with three cats.

We are only moving a short distance maybe a 15 min drive but I am stressing myself trying to work out how and when to contain these cats.
Two are sisters and are relatively relaxed. They sometimes use a litter tray. They get along quite well together.
The other older cat is grumpy, hates being in, doesn't use a litter tray and hates the other two.
I am trying to work out whether to:
shut them in a room from the night before as the removal men will come early. All together in one room? One in a room on it's own [not sure we have enough rooms for that]

With the together and seperate variables but from early morning before the removal men come. Not sure I can guarantee the older one being around and then he might turn up in the midst of the move and get freaked out.

Shutting in a room whether the night before or on the day risks poo and wee on the carpet/floor and scratches at the door.

Or Cage em up in the morning and if they poo and wee at least it's contained. they could be in there for a while though.

I got herbal drops, which calmed them down. Will go and search out.

Thanks. No seperate loo unfortuately but yes laminate on floor of bathroom. Just wondered how practical that would be if anyone needed to pee.
Luckily the younger two are homebodies and I don't anticipate a problem with them straying back to old territory and the old one is the more intelligent and has moved before without that happening.
I did laugh at the notion of shutting the cat in the toilet.

Why not put them in a cattery the night before moving day and the first night in your new home? It will be less stressful for both you and them.

Will it? I feel more worried about doing that to my beloved moggies than about DD1 going on her school trip.
Maybe.....

We've always done that when we've moved. I felt happier knowing that our cat was safe and not freaking out about the house being turned upside down. It also stopped me worrying in case he got out at the new house in an area he didn't konw.

I make sure that we get his bed, food bowls etc put in part of the new house where it quiet and not a lot of unpacking happening there so that he can start to adjust to the new home
