Large rabbit hutches

Can anyone recommend a good, strong, large rabbit hutch? My rabbits have been living in their hutch in the garage since I saw a fox in our garden. Our hutch is too old to be fox proof and it is really time to get a new one. They are used to having a large run attached and being able to stretch upwards as far as they like as the run we have is v tall. I'm prepared to spend a bit, but would prefer something which will last and be as foxproof as possible.
Thanks

Our rabbits live in a small shed, with a 'rabbit flap' cut into the side. This lets them out into a large, secure run and we open this so they have the run of the garden when we are about and shut them in it if we are out.
We always shut them in the shed at night.

They have a small hutch, without a door, inside the shed to snuggle in and there's plenty of storage room on shelves that rabbits can't get at.

They're litter box trained. So we clean the litter trays every day and sweep out the rest of the shed every couple of weeks.

I got a big hutch with a run underneath from the happyhutch company via ebay. It has done not too badly, given the fact that it has outwintered for the last 4 years, but the hinges etc need replaced. oh, and it withstood a determined onslaught from a roaming japanese Akita, a rottweiler and a staffie (I kid you not- it is chewed, but unbreached!)

Agree it is important for run and hutch to be tall enough for bunnies to stand up. THis was the reason I bought this hutch. I think it was about £150. HTH

Thanks, I will look at happyhutch. I would love them to live in the shed, but it would be a sacrifice too far for gardening DH!

We got fed up with wooden hutches and runs and have an eglu now. It has a smaller living space but they prefer being outside anyway. I also have 2 sets of "pens" that make the run area more expansive but shut them into the eglu run and hutch at night.

Thanks, I just looked on the eglu website and they look great, think I might save up a bit more and go for that.

We've got the 6ft 'proper hutch' from Forsham cottage arks.
Our three are Dutch and crossed Netherland dwarf so ar happy in there - plenty of room.

Forsham have several agents through England, so you could contact them for your nearest.

It's a fantastic hutch, but two things I did to ours to make it better - one, put a layer of thick good quality vinyl (offcut, only a fiver from the carpet shop) on the base before screwing on the sides.
This makes ceaning a breeze, they don't need newspaper and it never gets saturated like plain wood.

I also asked Forsham to make me two wire doors, instead of the large one - they charged about an extra £50 for this but it was well worth it. The 4ft hutch is fine with a sinlge door but the 6ft it was very annoying to have a huge door and the buns would try and escape from one end while you fed them!

If you ask pre-ordering though they may make you a hutch with this two door thing already.
They have the technical plans now!!

IMO an eglu is too small for a rabbit to be comfortable in, even if they use the run in the day.
We have a large run for them as well.

Loving the shed idea!

forgot to say, the 6ft hutch is about £185 - but it's made from pressure treated timber, not the usual chinese fir - so it really, really lasts. I'd struggle to contemplate buying anything else now - we had a piggy run that literally fell to pieces last summer.
