Our cats sometimes get sneezy and both were obviously quite coldy (try looking at your cat's eyes - do they look a bit weepy?) when we first adopted them. The vet said it was similar to kennel cough and gave them some powdered stuff to go in their food which cleared it up pretty fast. It think it was just a general supplement (Lysine). We've used it once or twice subsequently too.

One of mine has been sneezing this last week. She's had all her jabs and is a housecat only. I've put it down to a touch of hayfever. She does sit in the open doorway or at open windows so can sniff pollen in the air.

Thanks both, my dh is away and I was worried I wasn't taking it seriously enough. His eyes are bright and his brother isn't sneezing. We have been painting, could it be that do you think?

It's probably the paint fumes - they're very funny with smells. Often mine will stand sniffing something strange and then sneeze, shake her head and walk away in digust

It's worth considering hayfever too, it's quite common in cats. And with the warm weather we've been having, the season is upon us - one of my dogs has hayfever and we've had to start giving her piriton the last few days. If it is hayfever the vet can advise you on which medication to give her - they'll probably tell you to use half a piriton tablet, or might be able to pescribe something specifically for cats.

Ok thank you, I will ask my vet about both hayfever and the paint

Hi our cat had this and it was because there was something wrong with her teeth.

Cant remember what but they did have to be removed.
