My dog seems to be losing weight!

I have a 13 month old Lakeland Terrier. We swapped him from his puppy food (Eukanuba for small breeds) to the adult version about 3 weeks ago. He's never been a big eater, and we give him the full amount it says for his weight in one feed (he won't eat in the morning, so we've started feeding him just in the evening). He gets the odd biscuit as a treat/ reward, but he doesn't seem overly interested, to be honest.

He just seems to have lost a lot of weight recently. He's still bursting with energy, and runs around like a maniac when I take him out in the afternoon (and dh says he's the same in the morning), and he plays with dc in-between!

Would it be worth swapping his food - could it be that it doesn't suit him? He seems to get upset tummies quite easily - one of the reasons why we don't give him many treats! Could this be something?

I've made an appointment with the nurse at the vets next week to have him weighed for his worming tablets, and I'm going to ask her then as well - but a week seems a long way off, and I thought I'd pick the collective brains on here!

TIA!!

Can you feel his ribs easily, and when you look down on him, can you see where his waist tucks in? If so, that's good, he's at an ideal weight. If you can see his ribs or feel his spine very easily, he may be underweight.

As long as he is full of energy, I wouldn't worry, he's probably burning his food off, a lot of dogs are naturally slim especially if they are very active.

Thanks Countrygirl - from what you're saying, I think he's just a slim dog - not underweight. Phew - I'm as bad with the dog as with the children!I think it was seeing him defluffed as well - we've just finished hand-stripping him, so he's not very fluffy anymore (we left it on over the winter to keep him warmer!). Thanks!!
