Look at this!

I'm suddenly glad I don't live near any cliffs, this sounds exactly like something one of mine would do!

Aw, bless.

Had to laugh last night - Mr Bella was watching some seaside rescue thingy. A woman had to be rescued after falling down a cliff.

What had she been doing?

Laying flowers where her friend had died

Durr!

Typical bloody Spaniel - run first, think afterwards!

Bless her. So glad she survived that fall.

Sounds like the kind of dopey thing I will find Ruby doing in a few months time.

Her current favourite game appears to be doggy pin ball as she bounces against various bits of furniture during her "mad half hour" "o

lol @ bella!

It did make me wonder if the dog did that cartoon 'still running despite being in mid-air' thing! I bet the seagull was rather smug, you can imagine it looking at the dog on the way down and saying "durr, I have wings dumbass"

Seriously though, how terrifying must it be to see your dog fall off a cliff? I'd probably have been straight down after it (although I am as dumb as a wing-less dog)!

I reckon the seagull's still gloating

My first dog Callie did the same sort of thing when she was about six months old, fell down the side of a old quarry, which is known locally as 'half mile hill' it was about a 60 ft drop.

We'd taken her out for a run and went up the track that runs along the top of the quarry, one side was a sheer drop, Callie went over to the side,I told her to come back but she went too far and slipped over the edge, even now I can still remember seeing the sheer panic on her face.

She roly-polied from the top to the bottom, my bf at the time ran full pelt back down the hill, and we were sure she was dead, but she just got up and ran about whining and wetting herself, bless her.

Although she was shaking, she only had a slight limp so we took her straight to the vets to get her checked and he diagnosed a slight sprain in her leg.

The Vet said she was very lucky and it was probably the fact she was a puppy that saved her as her ligaments, bones etc were softer because she was still growing.

I have never let any of my dogs off the lead there again.

Moonmother your heart must have been in your mouth

There's a NT property near us that everyone says has good woodland walks so we took our lab there last January. It was going great but about half way round it went from flat ground to huge drops right next to the path, straight down to the rocks and sea below. You couldn't even see the edges properly because they were covered in undergrowth, and I was so paranoid about her falling I was on edge the whole time. We didn't even have a lead with us, so I just kept calling her to heel in a hitch pitched panic stricken voice like some kind of mad woman. It wasn't enjoyable at all, and I was so glad to get back to the car. Never been back!

I know a woman whos spaniel ran off a cliff at whitby. She didn't survive

Is it a particular spaniel trait then?

My dog got stuck up a cliff after climbing up after something. We tried for an hour to get her down but no luck.
She was still in exactly the same position almost 2 hours later when we went back with Cliff Rescue to get her down.

Stoopid dog.
