Tomcat problem - TMI alert

Our oldish cat (age unknown - 12? maybe) has been going a bit barmy since Christmas. Amongst other delights, he takes any opportunity to hump the DCs soft toys . He was neutered years ago for definite - we took him to the vets for the snip. Does, um, anything "come out" once they are neutered i.e. do I have to throw the toys away? (there are lots). I think he is a bit stressed and am trying some Feliway to resolve that. He gets outside a lot and there is lots of green space in the field at the end of the garden so he is not short of exercise.

Sorry, to put this on what I imagine is usually quite a fluffy, nice board but I am at a loss and it is only a matter of time before one of the DCs catches him "at it" and I am not really ready for a "birds and bees" convo with a 3 and 5 yo involving a masturbating tom!

is he showing any other signs of being out of character?

MrsSantosloves2010 · 21/02/2010 15:34

Tbh he has always been a bit loopy but very healthy otherwise. He is ex RSPCA but I think he was born in the shelter so not aware of any ill treatment. He has had some isshoos with a neighbouring cat but that tom has been living here as long as we have and so it's not a new situation. He has the annual vax and always gets a clean bill of health tho he is a greedy little blighter and is a bit overweight

Neutering for cats is castration, ie removing the testicles completely, so I don't think anything could ooze out!

he may just be trying to rid aggression on something convenient. Nothing will "escape" as there's nothing in him to escape iyswim?

MrsSantosloves2010 · 21/02/2010 16:03

OK that's great. My main concern was err, hygiene . I didn't know that about the testicles. As for the energetic humping, I suppose I will just have to tell them he is angry with the blue furry bunny

Anyway, thanks

I'd say randy tom cats are a step up from the things we normally talk about on here (poo is the topic of the week)
