Does anyone know how many animals you can register at the PDSA?

The statement just says 'limited', no specific number.

Thanks.

unless you are going to use a normal vet practice that run a PDSA ped aid scheme.

in that case it is just one animal.

IMO, if you are needing to ask a charity for help with the costs of veterinary treatment then you should only own one animal anyway but thats a whole other thread.....

No its a PDSA centre.

And animals people have had for years before they loose their ability to work should be just what? Put down? Abandoned?

Well the PDSA is a charity but that doesn't mean thet you don't have to pay. Some people, such as myself, may be able to pay the whole bill if I have the money spare and I would pay as much as I possibly have so its not always free treatments.

Sorry it just annoys me when people 'have a go' at people using a service that is designed for them, its for people of a low income, it doesn't mean they don't have to contribute it just means that if you are desperate and that your animal is in need of emergency treatment then your pet wont die!

Standard treatments are still charged at a set rate (neutering injections, fleaing, worming etc)

And like I said, even if an animal was run over and I didn't have a penny to spare I could get treatment and go back a week later to donate when I did. And continue to do so until I felt I had paid enough.

Some people do abuse it yes, but to jump on a poster straight away for just asking a question, assuming they are doing something bad or are irresponsible, its just not nice.

My uncle has 2 dogs and a cat, he has had them all for at least 5 years (the cat longer) and he has now got chrones disease, he did not have this when he got them.

So when he was diagnosed he should have done what?? They are his animals and he loves them.

Not another benefits thread, please

How's your new pup doing, Disenchanted? Any luck with her hernia? Hope she's okay.

Disenchanted3 · 11/02/2010 09:14

Hi Bella, well the vet we took her to (not the PDSA ) said to keep a close eye on it and theres been no change, she seems very happy. If its not gone by 6 months then we will get it surgically corrected when shes neutered.

Shes having her first injection today so I will get him to check it over again.
