Thanks all.
Bella, it's nice someone has confidence in me, I have to say, this is the first time I have doubted myself... I have no doubt I can do it, but wonder if I will find it a total nightmare... Also, if we keep a puppy (and we won't breed unless we do keep one) then it will probably be nearer 3 months instead of 4 when the babies are born, so not quite yet able to go out and about a little on foot, less easy to tire out and maybe not toilet trained by then. It also means DH will be responsible for socialization, (as I'm sure as hell he can't breast feed twins..) and I am not sure I trust him...
Frostyfingers.. these are my 4th and 5th babies. My other DC are 13, 9 and 5, the oldest is more than old enough to help out if he needs to. (he is very grown up for age) Plus, I've had enough litters to be resigned to the fact that they aren't that much fun at all, just hard work... My main worry is that I would give birth before the litter had gone to new homes (I shouldn't, but that's not to say I won't) and that DH will have to spend his paternity leave with me trying to get breastfeeding established and shouting instructions to him from the sofa... although that may well happen litter or no litter...
I think a lot depends on my consultants appointment next week, and when madam decides to come into season. As I well know, the time you are waiting for them to come into season, is the time they wait longer...
However, this is my last chance to have a litter from this girl. The other daughter of hers we have doesn't like showing (it's just sooooo boring, dontcha know?! ) and she is 4 1/2 now. I wouldn't have a litter after she is six, and she has been having phantom pregnancies, so I want to get her spayed anyway due to the increased risk of pyo. So, if we don't breed, she'll be getting spayed after this next season.
Gosh, I do ramble....
