Vibrating Training Collars

here I am referring to those that vibrate only NOT the ones that shock.

Basically we rescued a Boxer/Staffy cross last year, she is now about 18 months old. She has been to training and my hubby has worked really hard with her and we continue to do so. We have made real progress on everything except recall.
If she is off lead and something grabs her attention then she just takes off and totally ignores you. We have tried clicker training and using treats etc but she is not food motivated so it doesn't tempt her back. She does come back to us, but it seems that it is when she wants to.
My dh has read several training books and tried techniques and if you do the training out in the garden everything works fine, but out in the fields etc it is a totally different story.
We wondered whether a vibrating collar would work as it is something that will interupt what she is doing remotely...any experience of these?
TIA

Personally I would not use a vibrating collar. If it is only a gently vibration it will make no difference at all and will not be enough to side track her. If it is enough to side track her it could cause other behavioural problems,.

It sounds like you are doing really well but have just moved the goal posts a bit too soon for her.

So she has good recall in the garden. Can you reward her with toys she will need to have something to come back for.

Just slightly add a distractin to the recall in the garden maybe one of you have a toy and the other person call her when she goes to the recalling her go mad and praise.

When she does this reliably then add harder distractions you will know what that may be and then build up to recall out on the walk. Do not call her if you know she will not come as she must get used to always coming.

Its a bit like calling your OH from the rugby for example to come home to do the washing up - he is not likely too but if you make the reward for coming home higher than the one he is leaving behind(I have no idea what!) you will find he will come home quicker!
good luck
