4 month old puppy has diarear (sp) whats best to do

My 4 month old springer spaniel has had diarear. It start yesterday afternoon, and still still has it now.

I have not changed her dog food or anything, but she does tend to eat everything and anything she finds on the floor, while we can stop this at home litter and stuff on the street is a little harder.

She is eating and drinking well and is totally fine in herself apart from diarear, she had me up int he night whining which she has not done before so she could go out.

I happy to take her to the vet if needed, but dont want to take her if this is something thats likely to clear up.

Asking for advice, many thanks

Gosh you know I just have to say, I am back here after a very scary ten minutes on the AIBU bit - I am genuinely terrified! Have come running back with tail between legs, petrified at the nastiness of some people. Must stay here in the fluffy land of puppy diarreah and naked chefs

'Tis me

aibu is a scarey place

but so is pets with bella and her vibrators

MrsL123 · 24/01/2010 21:14

It is slightly addictive though, I have to admit....

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2010 21:20

which thread has scared you?

MrsL123 · 24/01/2010 21:31

most of them

The thread that sent me running away with my hands over my ears singing "la la la" was the one about the 15 year old. I've must have missed a lot of background on that one, otherwise it would seem that people are just a bit nasty rude to other people for the sake of it. And a poor girl getting torn apart about her living arrangements after asking for advice in the fiance in australia thread. Doggy diarreah is much more pleasant!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2010 21:42

you do have to have a very thick skin if you post on aibu

MrsL123 · 24/01/2010 21:48

Yes, I have to admit, I wouldn't start a thread on there unless I was absolutely sure I was not being unreasonable, in which case it'd be redundant anyway

Bella32 · 24/01/2010 21:49

pmsl at your pic, MrsL

And how very refreshing that you feel comfortable enough to admit you find vibrators addictive You and Blondie have much in common, I believe.

I never go to AIBU - never go out of Pets really. It baffles me why anyone would want to post anywhere else

MrsL123 · 24/01/2010 21:54

Ooooh bella you're missing so much. It's like watching the jeremy kyle show when you're off ill - has to be done!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2010 21:56

mrsl - bella does go to other sections - thats how we met

on a sex thread!!!!

but yes wwc is getting a beating - not sure if i beleive or not tbh

MrsL123 · 24/01/2010 21:58

Reading more into it, I'm not sure either now

Actually no, if it is true I stand by what I said, I would have done the same. But not knowing the background and seen as it's getting increasingly nastier, I'm just steering clear now. Still reading it, though, can't quite tear my eyes away!

SORRY BOUNCY

WE COMPLETLY HIJACKED YOUR THREAD!!

MrsL123 · 24/01/2010 22:13

Ooops yes, sorry bouncy

Ahhh but if we hadn't, it would have got lost to the bottom of the page and Eyethingy wouldn't have seen it, and she wouldn't have given the new (legitimate post-relevant) response >

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2010 22:55

true mrs l

and note it was bella (as usual) who hijacked and dragged my innocent name into it

wildfig · 28/01/2010 00:39

bouncymum did you find out what was causing the dire rear? My pup-olescent had squishy yellow poo for a couple of weeks - I did the vet-recommended things (less/different food, worming, no treats, fish and rice, etc) and finally had a faecal sample done when nothing seemed to be helping. Vet thought it might be giardia, but it turns out he has campolybacter, probably from raw chicken wings, so he's now on a course of antibiotics. Might be worth spooning some poo and getting it checked out, just to be on the safe side?
