When I moved the dogs bedding and blankets to wash, I noticed he had been pee'ing up the side of his heater which is infront fo the shelf I keep the pans on The pans are now in a bathfull of hot water and milton.

He also pees up the under sink cuboard occassionally.

This seems to be quite a recent thing. He had accidents the first few days we had him, but after that was fine, untill now.

He is approx two and has just been neutered. He was a rescue dog with no history and doesn't like being left alone. During the day he is fine and asks to be let out, but if he shut in anywhere he urinates everywhere. I am thinking this is due to stress at being left alone.

The ice has finally gone and the trainer is coming on Saturday. But any tips in the meantime?

Perhaps you need to get up in the night to let him out briefly? Maybe increase the times between letting him out would help?

I have to get up between 4-6 to let my puppy out, but I am really scared now as I have seen foxes around here recently and I am convinced they will run off with him!

Good luck on Saturday, its not that long to wait and will be here before you know it.

Sounds like stress but hard to tell from a post. If it is stress you need to build his confidence and ability to be left on his own.

LEave him for a second close the door and then immediately return to the room. Do not take any notice of him when you return to the room. This shows him that you will come back and it is no big deal if you leave. Do this as many times a day as you can.
Gradually and over time increase the length of time you leave him but only by a few seconds. If he makes a fuss or noise you have left him too long and go back to a shorter time again. You may only be leaving him for literally two seconds at first. Over time he will get used to you coming and going and it will not be a big thing for him. However as a rescue dog this can take time so be patience.

Re building confidence training training and more training. I would use a clicker and clicker train him as there is no telling off just praise and he will grow and grow in confidence.

Start off just clicking the clicker and treating, then you can build up to sits, down spins, left, right, in your bed etc.

Be patience it will take time but ususally they do get there.
