Says it all really we have been walking him 5mins for every month of life but since the snow is down he seems to be shivering when out so do I still walk him or do I cut it down.

A lot of hip dysplasia experts would tell you that playing in the house and garden is adequate exercise for such a young pup, so don't worry about skipping some snowy walks.

Of course you want to get him socialised but a few days off won't harm that.

Do remember that HD is only thought to be 30% hereditary, and the rest is down to diet and exercise. Feed him a good quality large breed food (prevents rapid growth which can put too much stress on the joints) and don't let him become overweight.

Thanks he is fed good quality dry food I have been weighing it but he is refusing to eat it I have weighed the correct amount and I feed 3 times a day but he is completely leaving one meal since I took his tins away because the breeders fed him on tins.

Info on packs is often wrong and only meant as a guide - pups are quite good at self-regulating, and he won't let himself starve

My lab wasn't really into his food at this stage either - people tell you labs are so mad about food so you exepct them to demolish every meal

Walking for youing puppies is mainly a good idea for socilaisation and teaching them to walk to heel. They don't really need it for exercise reasons until a bit older, so if your dog is getting to interact with other dogs/lots of different people, and you can teach him lead manners in the house/garden, then I wouldn't worry too much for now.

If you want to socilaise him, you can always sit outside a supermarket with him on your lap. Makes you look bonkers, but does wonders for your puppy!
