Rabbits and cold weather

I have two mini lop rabbits. I'm worried about them in this cold weather. Should I be bringing them in? or is there anything else I should be doing to keep them safe and comfortable?

Their hutch is in a sheltered spot and I've put down extra bedding - is this enough?

not really sure but i also have two mini lop rabbits we keep ours in the shed and at night i put a duvet over the top to try and keep them warm not really sure if it helps

I moved my rabbits into the shed 3 nights ago. They have a piece of carpet and a duvet over the cage. I did this in febuary too, when we had snow.

I bring mine in for the winter-to the cellar.
I think the house is too warm if they are usually outside.

Mind you it´s currently minus 9!

Mine are Lionheads and don´t have really dense fur.

I suppose you don´t have a shed or a cool room they could go into?

I leave my rabbits outside, but the are hardy english bunnys, lots of hay and well covered.
We have always had a couple of rabbits and I worry about them more in the heat than the cold

My rabbit is outside in about four inches of snow, and she's bouncing around happily. She has shelter and a warm hutch, which she mostly ignores. The main thing I worry about is her water which freezes, but even when I defrost it, she doesn't rush up to drink from it so I suspect she is getting water from somewhere else in the garden, maybe she eats the snow?

Thanks for this.

I'll move them into the Wendy House just to be on the safe side.

My HR is shivering at the thought of your hardy outside rabbits in the snow. She's sitting on her blanket next to the radiator.

Bedlambeast - I had an outdoor rabbit when I was kid that lived in a large adapted old cupboard. She was out in all weathers and loved playing the snow. She lived for 10 years which I think is pretty good by bunny standards. I think it depends what they're used to.

We're buying a house from a couple that are downsizing, and they have asked us if we would like to keep their rabbit, who apparently lives in the garden all year round, with a pen and a hutch, which I think is always open. The seem just to give him leaves from their vegetable patch and otherwise it's quite independent. I'm in Canada, and last week it was -15C during the day! This in a country where cats are generally not allowed outside at all. Perhaps he is some very hardy breed?
