Cat with bent tail

Our young cat hurt her tail this morning, we discover spots of blood on the floor (not much), on closer inspection the injury seems to be on her tail and the end of her tail seems a bit floppier than normal (she is very fluffy so it is hard to see any damage clearly). she seems quite happy but I can't get her to the vet until monday, do you think it's OK to wait and see until then? Her tail is not bent at 90% or anything just seem a bit kinked and not as "expressive" as normal IYKWIM.

If she isn't distressed and the cut/graze isn't very deep then you can bathe it in 1 tsp salt dissolved in 1 litre of cooled boiled water and wait until Monday to have the tail checked.

Am sure your vet/vet nurse would be very happy to answer any worries over the phone too

thanks Bella, I will keep an eye on it, slighty concerned because vaguely remember horror stories involving absesses and tail amputations due to nerve damage etc.

i am actually a bit PFB about her, much more so than my rough, tough sons, she is such a little sweetheart.

Lol - as I said, give the vets a ring if you are worried. They are generally quite nice, helpful people. She may require an op at some point but tails are funny things and are sometimes best left to settle if the damage isn't too bad.

P.s. Not saying you shouldn't go to vet on Monday, just that it can probably wait if need be.
