Quick Q about puppy vax

My pup was vaccinated at 6.5 wks, with CHPPI2, a pet health website says against the following:

(Sorry, but I live in Belgium): Immunisation active contre la maladie de Carré, les adénoviroses, la parvovirose et les affections respiratoires à
parainfluenza de type 2, les leptospiroses à Leptospira canicola et Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae et de la
rage.

so, Carre, adenovirus, parvo, parainfluenza and leptospirosis I suppose in English. 'Rage' would normally be rabies, but this was not a rabies vax, so not sure what that means.

The breeder told me not to take him out until he had more vax, which are due on 25/12, so I was planning to go a couple of days before.

Can I take him out on the street after that? He's 9.5 wks now and too big and wriggly to carry, so he's spending nearly the whole time at home and not getting enough socialisation.

think you need to ask vet and follow their advice but when our puppy was vaccinated as puppy it was two jabs, 3 weeks apart and then waiting another week before she could mix with other dogs, be put down to walk in a public place... they don't have full immunity until a week after secon jab we were told. so yes, had to carry her everywhere for a month!

It does vary across the different vaccines, even in UK.

I certainly wouldn't take him anywhere until he's fully vaccinated and the vet has said it's safe for him to go out.

Risk of death from being unvaccinated far outweighs the downside of losing a few weeks socialisation.

Take him out in the car - they can see everything that way!

OK, I will drop in to the vet this week. He's had 3 weeks since his last vax now so maybe he could have another set.

He needs to be at least 10 weeks for the second vaccines due to maternal immunity levels dropping low enough to ensure the vaccines are effective. It should then be at least a week before he goes out in public areas to allow his body time to respond to the vaccine he has been given.
As you are already doing I advise talking to your vet for the most local information to where you live though.

Thanks, he had the second vax today - he'll be 10 wks on Friday. The vet said she could only recommend not to take him out until 1 week after the 3rd vax which are due on 7-9 Jan, but that she actually considered the risk of him contracting something very low. I was concerned about this as will be taking him on a long car journey in a couple of weeks and will need to get him out in public areas for a wee.
