How long do puppies keep nipping

I don't mind the poo and pee
I don't mind the time, love, care and attention
I don't mind the house wreckage or shedding
When oh When does the nipping stop it is the only thing that bothers me just need you to give me a rough time scale so I can see there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Before anyone has a go I love my dog to bits and would not dream of re-homing him.

Depends really on how consistent everyone in the household is with stopping it, tbh.

We are consistent he is told no every time and we all turn away and ignore him if he nips until he stops he was getting alot better but has suddenly the last day or two started chewing and nipping everything in sight he is 11 weeks could he be teething?

Hmmm...maybe - but possibly what's called an 'extinction burst', which is a sudden increase in a behaviour you're trying to stop - just before it actually stops

So hang in there - the end may be in sight!

Thanks Bella while I have you here what is best everyone has said to feed my lab a puppies complete mixture only but I had been giving him a mix thinking variety is better so I give him two meals of hills puppy complete and the third a mix of complete and tinned food. Is it healthier to feed him only complete.

Until they realize that its hurting you, as soon as it nips you yelp like a puppy.

My dog's 1.5 and still tries to nip like a puppy (she still think she's a pup) but if i yelp she soon stops, she rarely nips now but will mouth a little when excited.

We tried yelping he seems to get more excited by it though I think he thinks it is part of the game.

Better to feed just one complete food. The dried complete foods are balanced in such a way that if you add anything, you're losing the benefit of feeding such a good food. Also a small dental benefit in feeding dried food.

When he's fully grown you can feed a little tinned food or whatever for variety, but puppy nutrition is very important.

Do remember when he has stopped nipping ie hopefully when you turn away and say "ow" you must praise him for being calm. Often people only tell off and not praise the good behavouir which is the standing there looking angelic even if it only for a nanosecond.

The more consistent you are the quicker it will pass but some puppies do need more consistency than others!

He is always rewarded and is coming on great. Thanks again for all the advice given.
