My cats seem to have super stinky wee, what are your top recommendations of odour absorbing cat litter!

TIA

This is the best one I've found:

here

Not the cheapest, but goes a lot further than other litters and no smells

CMOTdibbler · 03/12/2009 08:56

We've been using Sophisticat Pink for years now, and it really controls smells

bamboobutton · 03/12/2009 08:58

i recommend wood pellets too. although you will find it alot cheaper in giant pet store type places, wood is wood afterall.

we use this one

msrisotto · 03/12/2009 09:05

Another vote for Okoplus.
It's the same as any wood based litter in terms of controlling smell (really good) but it also clumps which makes it much easier to clean out and my cat prefers it to the bigger chips (they tend to prefer finer grained litter)

MarthaFarquhar · 03/12/2009 09:09

yeah, wood pellets best for stinkers.

CarGirl · 03/12/2009 18:32

Cheers will try some of those suggestions.

catsan clumping with a bit of bob martins deodoriser shaken in. 3 cats and you can't smell them. only draw back is that it does cling to their feet a bit.

HugeBaublesWhatDidISayRoy · 03/12/2009 18:42

am a wood pellet girl here, but do get a bit fed up when the weed on bit turns immediately into sawdust and gets flicked about all over the place.

Last week i tried those crystals i cannot remember the name but they were more expensive than the wood, and a complete waste. the crystals stank, after one wee

morethanyoubargainfor · 03/12/2009 18:46

we use this one

it is brilliant although a little pricey you also flush it down the loo to dispose of it.

jemart · 03/12/2009 18:49

The silica gel crystal ones are best for containing smells, i think saonsburys sell one, tis pricey though.

other option is to clean their tray more often and also consider changing their food, sometimes diet has a bad effect on the smells they make.

FlyMeToDunoon · 03/12/2009 18:54

I would also recommend sophisticat citycat. The main drawback I find is that when scraped out of the tray it pings all over the place as it is very light and bouncy.

SleighGirl · 17/12/2009 22:14

finding sophisticat gold very very good, just pricey!
