I'm going to see a couple of litters of these puppies, wondered if anyone has one or knows anything about them in terms of temperament etc?

Please do not consider a designer dog, they are basically an overpriced crossbreed. you can adopt a perfectly nice crossbreed from any pound or shelter, although it might just be called a westie x schnauzer rather than a wauzer, or whatever ridiculous name these idiotic breeders will cone up with next.

So why is it worse to buy a crossbreed of two different pedigrees than a 'pure' pedigree. Surely the advantage of getting this kind of cross-breed over a rescue-dog is that you are more likely to know the parentage, the conditions it was bred in etc?

well when you consider as rescue dog, the conditions it was bred in are usually unknown and to be honest, irrelevant, since once you have the pup that's when you can start his education, so to speak.

For a pet dog, what difference does the parentage make? of course dogs purposely bred should be of sound health and temperament, but having said that, bad temperament is generally nurture rather than nature, i.e. a puppy won't inherit a foul temperament from it's parent if the parents temperament was caused by the way it was brought up or kept. (and there aren't any breeds or dogs that have a naturally aggressive temperament, they may have a natural guarding or protective instinct though, which of course can be lessened with training)

I'd rather buy a dog from a quality breeder who cares about their dogs and the quality of dogs they are producing or a rescue, not somebody who has simply jumped on the bandwagon or crossing two breeds, putting a funny name on this "fabulous new creation" and selling them for top dollar to unsuspecting purchasers.

no way would I pay those prices for a x breed which at the end of the day is all they are.. my dog was corgi x sheltie think that made him a Shorgi!!! Seriously not worth paying over the odds for a x breed dog. They are not a breed they are a cross breed and are not worth paying ££££ for because they come with a fancy label!
