clean bottles

my rabbits and guineapigs bottles never seem to get totally clean, they have green near the top which is inaccessible with a bottle brush.
what's the secret?

Seriously though, the bottles don't make it easy for them to drink, and most of them seem to prefer a bowl. Think of being thirsty and only being able to sip, then think of being able to take a decent drink You might find you have to replace the water a bit more often incase they kick crud into the bowl or knock it over, but you can always provide a bottle as a backup, I've found 1/2 filling with hot soapy water and some grains of (uncooked) rice/similar and shaking works well to get all the bits of gunge out too

i do keep a bowl outside but the rabbits don't look interested.

No - dishwasher's too hot, the plastic will go out of shape.

i have a bottle brush that has a little felty thing on the end to clean those bits. used to just used my finger to scrape it.

Fill bottle with hot soapy water, good quality kichen roll wrapped around an old wooden spoon handle. If you use expensive stuff it doesn't disintergrate in the hot water and if you remove the spoon you can pull the kitchen roll out, cleaning the bottle neck as you do so.
