Cats have FLEAS. I need some advice about de-fleaing the house without killing us all.

I have just given the cats a pill which kills fleas after 15 mins. Fine.

Now to tackle the house. I have Indorex spray which has worrying info on the back about not getting it in your eyes or breathing it in (that'll be tough given I have to spray the whole house).

It says to spray everywhere the cats sleep. Well that includes the childrens beds. Should I spray the beds??

How about the dressing up clothes. The cats have been known to sleep in the basket so shall I wash all of those? Will that get rid of eggs?

Shall I wash all bedding? Will that do?

Once sprayed all over my home, how does this stuff stop being poisonous?

That looks good. 'Within a ten metre radius'?? So just one of these in every room would sort me out?

But what about the eggs. They won't roll their way over I'm guessing. Or do they hatch then jump into the trap?

Not sure, SM, but when we used this, the fleas were eradicated in no time. The actual jumping ones found it irrestible. We did keep using it for a while after the intial zapping, so I suppose we must have got the hatchlings too.

It was 12 years ago, so memory fuzzy.

It was so much easier than constant hoovering, only to see another blighter when you sit down for a well-earned cup of tea. This device works without any effort from you.

We use once called Acclaim from the vet, expensive but effective for a year.

Vet instructed to spray the underside of hoover and in bag before you start. Hoover thoroughly. Spray each room around the edge, then as you leave the room do a few sprays into the centre of the ceiling so it then falls to the fall. Leave room shut up for 30 mins. Dispose of sealed hoover bag if you have one.

Thanks all. I have to say I'm leaning heavily toward the no effort flea trap. I've done the kids rooms which has taken me up until now because I had to tidy them all first. So I've done about a third of the house and have had enough.

None the less will continue tomorrow but perhaps get one of these flea trap things too.

WykenBlyken I love the poem which is your namesake. It's magical bedtime hypnotism in this house.
