Bella29 dont worry, Not really anything to hide in rl so its ok, i guessed it would.

They are fantastic. They seem to feed great then sleep for about an hourish then start all over again. Mums doing amazing.

As for homes, No not yet. Sort of have people ineterested but nothing confirmed yet. I'm starting that next week when i know they're all thriving well.

Am I a breeder, No, she is just a family pet. I deceided to breed her because i have a few friends who are pedigree cat breeders and i was interested in doing the same but with dogs. I didnt want to go into it without knowing what i was doing so this is like a trial breed. Hopefully one day in future i'll become one though

Thankyou all once again for the messages. Its nice to share it with others. I will keep you posted as to how they are all doing. Btw i do have 4 bitches and 4 dogs

I need one of these dogs in my life - they are sooooo cute! We are looking for a Spaniel - your not in West Sussex by any chance are you? Im guessing not by your chat name!

My friends Spaniel is having pups in 2 weekish we are 7th in line for one so hopefully she will have at least 7!

No sorry i'm from south yorkshire. Since telling people she's pregnant i'm amazed how many people are intersted. i know of 5 people who are intersted but not confirmed yet.
I found from svereal people i've spoken to who have bread spaniels, they seem to have large litters so you never know Fingers crossed

Thought i'd just give an update. Mum and all 8 pups are still doing fantastic. Its just eat, sleep, eat, sleep!!!!They all seem to be thriving well and have already found their own favourite teet each
We've also found that still, they're all a very similar size so thats good too.

ZOMBIE THREAD FROM 2009

Generally the way to get into breeding is to become involved in your chosen breed via either showing or working, or to become involved in a particular dog sport where your breed could excel, then learn from those far more experienced, find someone to be your mentor and guide you through your first breeding process. Not have a "trial breeding" just to see how everything works. Obviously it's too late this time but next time I really would look into finding someone to guide you through the process properly, a good mentor is worth their weight in gold.

I'd also get a serious waiting list going as soon as possible. This really should have been done prior to the pups being born. As soon as there's a litter of cute little puppies on the ground there'll be all sorts of people coming out of the woodwork, swearing blind they want one (despite only having vaguely considered getting a dog and not knowing anything about the breed) only to disappear when reality sets in and the pups actually need homes.

Presumably she and the stud you picked are fully health tested? And you'll be arranging for the litter to have their eyes screened by a BVA panellist? What is the COI of the litter?
