Oh I forgot my kitten birth story.
I had Misty in her box and checked on her every 2/3 hours. At 2.00am she was frantic and was ripping her nesting box apart.
I took her {in box} through to living room, grabbed a duvet and just let her lie in her box, me on couch.
I woke 2 hours later to high pitched squealing .
Looked in the box and she had one coming out. After she had finished cleaning this kitten another one came and she moved over and I realised she was actually lying on another kitten. (she must have had this before I woke), he/she died it was very sad. Cleared his/her airways, gave mouth to mouth but he/she was gone.
Anyway, by this time another one was coming and she had already ate 4 placentas [ewk] and must have been feeling full so I had to help out with the 5th and 6th cords. (pushing blood to placenta and cutting cord with fingers and squeezing firmly - then dab with iodine).
5 kittens, all happy with their mum.
Enjoy it and please check under your cat, if she is in labour.
I wish I had.
