Someone's cat pooing repeatedly in the same (very inconvenient) place - what to do?

Someone's cat keeps pooing in the same place at the front of our house (edge of small flower bed by drive). It is just where I park my car and every time I clean it up, the cat does it again within a day or 2 in the same place. My drive is the size of my car so I can't park anywhere else. As soon as my DS (3) gets out of the car and takes a few steps, he's right at this pile of cat crap. If I park the car the other way round, it will be right where my DD (1) gets out as I have a child both sides. How can I stop this happening? It's happened 4 times recently and it's really annoying me. Please help! Will check back later as got docs appt. TIA.

There is a plant which cats are supposed to hate -

here

Otherwise try wooden skewers pushed into the ground, or would it be possible to lay some tinfoil down, even just for a few days?

Please don't use Jeyes fluid - it's toxic to cats.

HTH

pop1973 · 01/04/2009 13:31

I have heard the same about tea bags with olbas oil. Should work

wasabipeanut · 01/04/2009 13:37

cat pepper?

crokky · 01/04/2009 15:50

Thanks everyone. Olbas oil and tea bags are out there now so hopefully it won't happen again.

bella - don't worry I would not hurt a cat. I just rant about them

Let us know if the tea bags work!

I mentioned the Jeyes fluid because lots of people recommend it as a smell cats don't like, but very few people seem to know about it being toxic.

Hope the poo stops!

Oooh, am very interested about the tea bags with olbas oil. Will give it a go.

Crokky - I am a fellow cat (owner) ranter!

Someone mentioned human wee on another thread so I emptied dd's potty on the spot where the cat was pooing a couple of times . It hasn't done it since...

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 01/04/2009 17:58

lion poo.

whoingodsnameami · 01/04/2009 18:01

Crikey, I did'nt know that about Jeyes fluid, I use it every few months to clean my path and outdoor bin area, will switch to dettol, hope thats ok.

Jaamy · 01/04/2009 18:09

Anyone got a lion I can borrow?

Eeek · 01/04/2009 18:12

go the other way - put cat mint in. The cat will go into happy heaven and will not crap near by. It's also quite pretty and smells nice to people.

Alternatively cats hate citrus so put orange peel on the ground. I use citrus oil on my carpet to stop the cats scratching the stairs and it works while it's fresh.

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 01/04/2009 18:15

you can buy it online or at garden centres. It is the bees knees for keeping cats away!

fruitshootsnweaveseasterbasket · 01/04/2009 18:21

put this on your drive

bella29 · 01/04/2009 19:40

Whoingodsname: Dettol's just as bad. Anything with phenols in it, which goes cloudy in water, is toxic for cats...

fruitshoots - I'm no zookeeper but that definitely isn;t a lion! Very cute though!

Ruby - she could make a fortune hiring them out!
