Not if you buried it deep enough...

SweetCheeksLovesSweetTalk · 23/02/2009 12:25

Will you get another? What are like as pets?

thisisyesterday · 23/02/2009 12:25

yep, if it's buried down deep enough you shouldn't smell anything at all

cornsilk · 23/02/2009 12:30

I'm a bit worried about what will happen when our house rabbit eventually dies as he tends to disappear under beds for hours on end and could easily be forgotten...Where did you find your rabbit?

CactusJack · 23/02/2009 15:19

DH buried him, i couldn't do it so i don't know how deep he buried him. Inside his playtube inside his box)

Will not get another, we aren't allowed pets in this house mainly but because i couldn't give it the attention it needs with 3 children!

Cornsilk, he was actually in his hutch thng in the (carpetted soundproofed)garage as we were due a landlord visit, he was fine the day before and died in his sleep (well we hope he wasn't in any pain) he was 8.5 and had had various infections including a really disgusting abscess on his head that burst everywhere he was also blind in one eye!

The boys wanted to put flowers on his 'grave' so we bought some and they have stuck them all in the ground one by one with the stems first.

wow - 8.5! I didn't realise that rabbits lived so long! It sounds like he was a happy bunny.

CactusJack · 23/02/2009 20:46

they don't normally! about 7 years is average i think. He was a dwarf lop lionhead cross and we had never had him jabbed so he did really well!

How old is yours?

poopscoop · 23/02/2009 20:49

Ours is about 3, so plenty of life in him yet then!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2009 10:12

that your bunny died

if buried deep enough he wont smell - and neither willl he be dug up by foxes etc

that happened to my friends guinea pig - she came down 2days later to see gertie on top of the graaa mauled

CactusJack · 24/02/2009 11:06

foxes i didn't think of that

If DH didn't dig a deep enough hole (he went a bot odd when i asked last night) when can i expect smell? and how long for?

I know its an odd thing to worry about lol!

sure as he is in playtube and inside box that there should be no smell

but hope he dug deep enough and then patted soil etc hard on top - my dh stamps on their grave just to make sure earth is firm enough down
