Worried about kitten's eating habits

We have a 6 month old kitten whom we have had for 4 months.

She has had a very normal healthy appetite until very recently. In the last 3 days she has barely eaten anything.

She had been quite fussy about the freshness of the food and I have actually thrown stuff out that has been in her dish a while and replaced it.

However she is now turning her nose up at that. I know she is hungry as she will attempt to get at leftover cereal etc.

She is her usual self other than this although she has never been outside and lately has been crying at the window and another cat has been hanging around outside.

Is she simply lovesick or should I be a bit more concerned?

Cat novice here and would really welcome some expert advice.

If I were you...if she's not eaten for the last 3 days I would definitely get her in to see a vet. Three days without food is plenty long enough to have waited and if she's turning her nose up at her favourite fresh food I would strongly recommend you get her checked out.

Are you sure she's not snuck out?

Get her checked out asap. You haven't changed brand of food have you? Or maybe try another brand? Cats can be really fussy eaters..

Definitely not snuck out. Should have said she is eating, just a lot less than normal. And have tinkered about with brand, wet v dry etc.

She is her normal playful self and there has been the issue of the other cat outside.

I inadvertantly posted 1st post twice and I think she is "maturing" as others have suggested. All I need is another lot of female hormones flying around the house (DD 15, exams..)

Thanks for replies. My intention is to make appointment with vet tomorrow to get her speyed. Will then monitor and let you know.

Have lurked a while on this site and never really posted. Was a bit at my wit's end when I first posted as I'd cleared her dish and put fresh food out again and only a nibble taken. Truly thankful for swift replies.
