Neutered male cat suddenly peeing/spraying???

I have two neutered male cats (almost 4yrs) and one ds (20months). The more dominant one (as in, actually comes in the house when ds is awake and running around lol) has suddenly started weird behaviour and wondering if anyone can shed some light?

Never used to go in ds's room. Then a couple of weeks ago I found a poo in there (!!!!) bit odd but just cleaned it up. Next day a pee and a poo in the same spot (aaaaaargh!) so cleaned up and murdered the cat (ha. ha.). So far no recurrence of this.

Then yesterday the house was stinking of pee and eventually (and in small stages) I found he had peed on:

Ds' plastic toybox
The Calor Gas freestanding fire thingy
The wicker laundry basket

Not puddles of pee on the floor (except where it had dribbled down) but proper spraying up the side of these items.

Now this is NOT NORMAL for a neutered cat, is it?? What does it mean??

Oh wait!!! The most awful one, the day started with him peeing ON US. IN BED! Yes. He sprayed dh's t-shirt, the back of ds' head and my back. He is lucky to be alive but will not be so and living with us for long if we don't sort this out.

I have two theories but want to see what others suggest.. please help!

Both of my neutered cats spray, I think it's a territorial thing. The biggest culprit is the alpha male.

Has your son become more mobile recently? Has the less dominant cat become a bit braver recently? There could be a power struggle between them.

Ours haven't sprayed on us, but a friend has a male cate who likes to spray up his trouser leg!

We keep our bedroom doors shut because of their bloody spraying habits.

Yeah they are officially been banned from bedrooms now but I am NOT putting up with spraying, have enough to clean up with re. ds without cleaning cat pee off everything too.

Ds has been walking around/ screaming/ pulling at the guilty cat (who is pretty placid around him) for months now.

I think it's because ds has started using the potty loads and the cat might have caught the smell of his pee (has occasionally missed potty and while we clean up maybe he smells what we can't) and this has provoked him to retaliate??
