I already have one 3 yr old female mini norwegian forest type fluffy cat. She is moody, antisocial and dim as hell.

I love her, but she's not a lap cat, or even a 'touch me at al' cat!!

I have adopted a stray kitten from a rescue centre, and she is so sweet, loves a good cuddle and talks away to me. This a good thing, as i am a single mum and i just thought she'd be great company.

I have now read up a bit about torties and they seem to have alot of fans!!

Piratecat, could I just ask, what did the home visit entail?

Ingles2 · 06/01/2009 22:15

she purrs but with no sound really,..I can feel the vibration in her body
I think she has no voice bless her

Oh she sounds lovely. I had two tortie sisters from kittens until they had to be put to sleep at the ages of 12 and 16.

One was an elegant, fluffy, glamour puss and the other was small, smooth, acrobatic, purred like a motorbike, and was my shadow.

I still miss them. I always think of them when I see a tortie in the street and I was a bit disappointed that our current cats aren't tortie - which is ridiculous and I told myself so when I said we'd take them.

IME "naughty torties" are sweethearts to those they love, and complete cowbags to those they don't!

The number of torties we see at work where the owners promise they are the sweetest cats ever turn around and claw and bite whatever bits they can is insane LOL

2 of my 3 current scratches are from torties.. the 3rd was a bloody bengal!!

hi, you know what it's so nice to have a posititve thread onhere, i am normally moaning about something or other. Yet judjing by allthe naughty stories here, I may have more eratic situations to dealwith with this puss.

We had a hard time thinking of a name, but then my mum came up with Pixie, which is a superb match!!

Also lovely becuase my nana's cat was called Pixie, and both are no longer alive.

The home check involved a local volunteer visiting us and going thru a check list.

Before you can register your detials at a re homing place yuo have to fill in a similar thing. They all have stipulations. I was concernec as we are on a main road, and the rescue placer advised they would not rehome to such a place. Yet it's a tiny town, and the road isn't busy at all.

The town is rural, and the home checker said, you can't control your cat (which i know as i have lost cats at previous homes) and sometimes cat's do get run over on the quietest roads, when some loon drives thru.

Anyway. I was looking to home a dog, but a rescue dog , well it seem s most kids at home have to be over 10, or even more. Then this mad cat caught my attention.
