Dog is not eating

Our labrador-cross 'puppy' (just gone a year old) hasn't eaten since last night. She is drinking ok, and is perky and silly still. Should I assume she's just trying it on in case i swap her doggie food for steak (she has a good quality dry food and I'm not going to start swapping it around, however much she looks at me).
I am a little worried that it may be a sign that she's eaten a toy (haven't noticed any missing, and she's kept away from as much of the children's tat as I can manage).
She was wormed yesterday (but had already started being faddy (not eating her food imediately) yesterday come to think of it.
She hasn't had a season yet (as far as we know - we 'adopted' her at 7 months) so could this be a sign?

Any dog experts available to calm me down?

well ny advice (tho only a male dog) is to put food down and tell her to eat however you normally do. if she doesn't eat it remove it until the next meal time. she eats when you tell her to eat (you are her boss) and if she doesn't want it then she waits. if she's mucking about this will sort it out after a few days. sometimes they do get faddy - just make sure you are feeding good quality food with lots of nutrients - doesn't have to be dead expensive and my advice is NEVER human food - no snacks either so reduce treats except for , say, bedtime to signal it is bedtime

if it is a genuine loss of appetite get it checked out by vet and make sure she has plenty of fresh water available

Is she still pooing? If so, then probably not eaten a toy etc. My dog doesn't immediately eat his dried food either (would wolf down wet food though (not pun intended!). As overthemill said, if the lack of appetite still remains in a few days and/or she is not pooing, not drinking water, generally lacklustre then off to the vet. It is possible she could be coming up for her season, she is certainly the right age for it.

I'm not sure about the pooing - she's been at home with au pair today ( au pair walks her, keeps her company and lets her into garden at regular intervals). Was dark when I left for work and dark when I got home so if she's pooed in the garden I won't be able to see it. Will keep closely tabs on her tomorrow.
Good news is, after I moved her bowl back to the place in her crate that it was a couple of days ago - she ate her food - maybe she's fussy about where the bowl is? (She is peculiar for a lab, will not steal food or eat anything if she isn't sure that it's hers...does chew the occasional toy though).
Thanks for keeping me calm..

My mums GR used to starve herself. I think you only need to worry if she changes in any way; ie looks / seems ill

Dogs do try it on. My mums dog would not eat for DAYS - and I mean over a week... simply through stubborness, so after 1 day and a normal appearance, I wouldn't worry

our dog would go for days without eating. i don't think they'd starve to death! the think to look for is a change in habits & i do think you should feed in exactly the smae place each time

Thanks for your comments.
Yesterday she did the same again..ignored her breakfast, and ate her dinner late (even though it was in the 'right' place in her crate).
But she ate breakfast this morning ok... so I am hoping she's just being faddy.

Her bowl is only moving around because we got her a crate to give her a child-proof hiding place.. so I put the bowl into the crate to help her realise that it was a good place..then I moved it to the front of the crate to make it easier to fill (so now it's back at the back of the crate and I have to crawl in with her dog food twice a day )

As an aside to this drama, we've just been on a walk and met 4 dogs, none on leads, only 1 under supervision and 1 very aggressive and bloody scarey (and when I shouted for the owners to call their dog back, they said 'why?' - he was 'stalking' us down the lane, and as the owner shouted 'why', he pounced on our dog, growling and snapping - dd (5 year old) was petrified. Grr
