Read this on "am i being unreasonable" what do u think?

OK, my cat's normally goes in and out during the day.... this morning came downstairs and one of them has got some tinsel sort of stuff hanging out of his bum... basically he's eaten some tinsel type of stuff (he's an odd cat i know) and he's half pooed it out (sorry if TMI) the other half is stuck inside his bum still... before DH left for work he held him and i got marigolds on and tried to pull the rest out, but its basically stuck till he next needs to 'go' i expect.

I dotn want him sitting in the house with some poo-ey minging tinsel hanging out of his bum so have thrown him out for the day.... its been raining pretty hard, and he's been meowing at the front and back doors all day!!! He can get into the shed so has some shelter....

However i'm starting to feel sorry for the poor bugger... AIBU to leave him out for nearly 10hrs solid now???

Please don't try to pull it out - you can do serious injury to him.

If he were mine I would bring him in and feed him, with an added teaspoon of vegetable oil to help him pass the tinsel.

If it was still there in the morning I would see the vet.

Why don't you just cut off the bit that's hanging out, so that at least it's not trailing out of his bum?

BecauseImWorthIt Sad to see you think this is funny! This was something I copied and pasted on here. People seem to think this is funny and the person who originally posted this should not have animals. To say cut the bit hanging is a crass thing to say as the rest inside could do damage. The cat should have been taken to the vet immediately and not chucked outside for 10 hours.

Mean to leave the poor thing outside.

Also, would you not immediately phone the vet if your pet had eaten something odd.

Tinsel hanging out it's arse is funny though.

staffylover - have you had SOH bypass?!

I actually posted what was intended as sensible advice first, which was endorsed by oops.

But you painted a picure of your poor cat which was actually very funny.

I didn't intend to insult you - and I do feel for your cat. But it didn't really sound like you cared that much for him, to be honest, as you were more concerned about him dragging 'poo-ey minging tinsel' (your words) round the house.

BecauseImWorthIt! If you had read the original post more closely, I did say this is something I read on the "am i being unreasonable" section of MN and I have cut and pasted it into this section. In no way would I treat any animal of mine like this person. Its very strange what some people find funny

I did read the OP. It wasn't actually that clear that it wasn't your cat. Nor was it actually clear what question you were asking about the post.

However, I still think it painted a funny picture. Notwithstanding that, yes, it could be traumatic for the cat in question.

By the way, I have two cats of my own and have always had cats, so I wouldn't just be laughing at suffering.

And I still gave what turned out to be good advice.

FFS becauseimworthit.

A.Read this on "am i being unreasonable" What do u think?

B. The above was the 1st line on my op! How much clearer can it be.

C. It says I read this somewhere else on MN and at the end of that 1st line I put my question "what do u think"

D.That was the question I was asking!

God you have given me a headache!
