Any vets on here this evening? I have a Q about young kitten.

I have a new kitten who is about 8 wks old.
She seems to have diarrhoea, how long should I give it before taking her to the vets? Bearing in mind that it could just be from the upheaval of leaving her mum and siblings and coming into a strange house with different surroundings.
Mum was getting really grumpy with the kittens and refusing to feed them any longer hence why I have her now.

I also have an 18wk male kitten who has been enthusiastically playing rough and tumble with her, perhaps a bit too rough though.

Is she bright and well? Running around, lively, playing, eating and drinking? If so she can wait. If not she should see a vet pronto. I am assuming your older kitten is vaccinated?

It could be a number of things but the most likely would be a change of diet (if you've got her on different food to what she was getting previously the sudden change is usually enough to upset them) or worms (do you know how often and when she was last wormed?). Either way little kittens don't have the reserves of older cats and can dehydrate pretty quickly so if she seems down at all get her checked to be on the safe side.

She is currently asleep. She has had a little run around this morning. Eaten a tiny amount of food and has drunk a good amount of water.
Same diet as before.
6 runny poos
Spoken to the woman who I got the kitten from and the remaining kittens and mum also have the same but her other cats are fine

My above post still stands really - she needs worming and to see a vet if she is quiet. Can't examine animal from here so can't diagnose - see your vet!
