Urgent advice needed about kittens.................

My mum has just told me she has bought dd a kitten for xmas and is bringing it over this afternoon.

I have just ran out to buy things the kitten will need. I have got a bed, litter tray, expensive litter so it does not smell. And my mum will pick up the food and water bowls and some toys. Also bought kitten food.

So I think I have everything but I do not have a clue how to train my kitten not to poo and wee everywhere. Also it is only 6weeks surley this is too young to leave its mother?

Any advice welcome.

I would say it is too young, yes. Do you know where she got it from - rescue shelter, pet shop etc.? If it's been with its mum till now it might well have picked up housetraining from her, but if not you'll have to train it (afraid I've no advice on how as I've never had to do it).

Tbh I'd be a bit pissed off about someone just landing a kitten on me. Not because I don't wuv the ickle fluffy diddums, but because I'd want to know they hadn't got it from a pet shop or some dodgy dealer, and because I'd want to make sure it was old enough to leave its mum/healthy/happy.

Good luck anyway, I'm sure it will be gorgeous

6 months is too young

Could you ask her to keep it until christmas day so your daughter can have it then?

I mean weeks of course

well I was thinking of getting a kitten myself and I would have prefered to check where it was coming from and make sure it is all ready etc, but my mum just took it upon herself to get one, and no should wont keep it untill xmas.

she was not even going to tell me or buy any food or litter etc, so I would of been left with a kitten and nothing to look after i with...
