Hello!

We frontlined the cat 4 weeks ago and whilst cleaning up today I found a flea. Can I frontline the cat again before the 5 weeks is up?
Is there anything else I can do?
I'm nearly 39 weeks pregnant and I can't bear the thought of bringing the baby into a flea infested house

Thanks in advance for any advice

Yes it is fine to do that. Think about getting hold of a household spray as well though and do the house. Consider using frontline combo instead of frontline in the longer term as it is a more effective product in that it kills fleas like frontline, but unlike plain frontline it also helps to break the life cycle of the odd one that manages to breed before it gets killed off.
The down side to the combo version is that it is harder to get hold of - must be via your vet or on prescription whereas the plain frontline you can get from pharmacys and the like without prescription.

Thanks beautifulgirls. Will get dh to do the cat again tonight.
I have bought some insecticide spray from the vets but a bit worried about using whilst preg.
Will ask at the vets about the combo version - I hadn't heard of it.
Thanks again

P.s do you think it is possible the fleas have become immune to frontline which is why I found one or is it just because the flea lifecycle hasn't been broken yet?

You can get flea pills as well. You give them to the cats every couple of months. They worked for me as I have two cats and at one point they were really flea ridden. You can get them from most pet stores. Give them one and you are done with. Just poke it down their throat and rub their the underside of their neck a bit, keeping their head up so the crafties don't spit it out.

We got advocate from the vets for our dog - ££££££ but it does the trick.
He said they have an immunity to Frontline as it's now so common. I suppose he would say that, but this stuff does work.

I also tired of frontline. I think fleas build up immunity and it becomes more like a very expensive cologne....

Frontline kills fleas on dogs, not newly hatched-in-house fleas. So you can cotinue to find them But fleas need a host to feed off so as soon as that flea jumps on your dog it will die.
That is how ALL flea treatments work, so unless you buy the spray (think Stronghold do one)and do your house, you will find the odd one. At least your cat will be flea free!

sorry meat it kills fleas on cats.

(obv it kills fleas on dogs too if you happen to have a dog)
