In today's current economical crisis I am afraid that the luxury of owning a cat will be seen by some as unneccessary and expensive. If the said cat is not put into a stew by the more poorer neighbours of your area, then surely the better idea would be to share the cat amongst a few neighbours so that each will have the experience and luxury of owning a cat for a few brief moments.

However the cheaper option would be to eat the cat and then stuff the remains so that your beloved pet can still be enjoyed by the family at no added expense to yourselves.

my cat tried to follow me on the bus one day

My cat used to go next door and sleep on my neighbour's bed.

Her own cat was trembling downstairs.

No he won't. Our cat Ollie was like this, so much so there was uproar from the neighbours when they found out we were moving so we left him with old lady who lived next door but one.

It turned out he'd have breakfast with us, then move on next door for kippers , then to next door but one for lunch, and back to us for tea. It wasn't unknown for me to be walking round to the shop a good 5 minutes walk away to see him on the inside of someone's windowledge! Everyone had a cat bowl etc for him and each thought he was their cat.

We had a cat that went AWOL for a couple of days - searched high and low - feared the worst - decided to leaflet the neighbours - as I went up one path there was said cat (Dougal) asleep on the lounge windowsill - seems he had seen the door open whilst she packed for a weekend away - and gone in - had to wait for her to return to release him....

I was just gonna say Six Dinner Sid. See you got there first cod. I just love that you felt the need to correct your spelling of dinner from sinner! Made me chuckle.
