Can you get a pet sitter? To come to the house each day to let him out for a couple of hours? Normally works if you do it just before dinner time then they won't go as far.

If you have friends that can come in and just spend some time with him he'll probably be ok with just having the house till you get back. I think he'll just be lonely more than annoyed he can't go out IYKWIM

we have the same problem at the moment with ours ... in laws usually come in but they can't be trusted not to let them out and they dont come to them when called back in! we were quoted £19.00 a day for a cattery which over 2 weeks is astronomical!

oh god do it - we do this all the time and is always fine. My dad bikes down - chucks out cat food and whizzses off. Cats always fine - better cheaper than a cattery.

It's one thing to ask a friend to feed a cat for a couple of weeks, quite another to ask them to empty a litter tray for a couple of weeks. It always feels too much to ask, IYSWIM. Like asking them to clean your loo for you. So my solution is to pay a local teenager to do it - if a bit of money changes hands, dealing with cat shit is OK. This was only at kitten stage - lucky not to have absconders.

Make a cage. Like a huge rabbit run or something.

They can be aired. Like old TB patients on verandahs of hospitals.

We have to leave dog for 2 weeks. Am worried about this.

Mine go to The Willows cat hotel .Much better to know where they are and not come back to any shocks and knowing what yourkittens are like they may wander off if lonely or jsut because things have changed
