I'm going to ring my Mum today and see if she wants my 5 year old labrador

she already has one and has offered to look after mine whilst I am heavily pg/coping with a newborn (DC3) but I have talked it over with DH and I think I'm just going to see if she wants him for good.

I love him to bits, we all do, but as DH works full time its always left to me to walk him - and its hard! I can just imagine doing with a pram and two children

He has started waking up at 5-6 in the morning and wanting to be let out for a pee - ARGH I'm knackered and DH doesn't wake up! Mum's DH gets up at 5am anyway.

If we do give him to Mum we won't have to get a new car as all the baby stuff will fit in teh boot of our existing one, we were seriously going to have to get an estate just to fit dog & baby stuff in.

I feel like a cow. I feel like I'm abandoning him but I know he'd love it at their house. Big garden, long walks twice a day, somebody in all day ....

Just keep thinking about it been best for your dog. That's what we did and we know we've made the right decision. Hope you're ok

God I'm in a total quandry now

Dog supposed to be going tomorrow

HE seems bothered by the kitchen (one of the things that upset me) where he sleeps so I moved his bed into the hall. Since then he's been fine, back to normal.

I even video-ed him today to see what hej was like when we were out. He just potterd around the hall, slept on the rug, slept on his bed, had a drink, slept some more etc and tonight seems fine again

Should I still send him to Mums? It will be a better life Monday-Thursday but I feel really selfish and want to keep him

What did you do MamaG? Hope you're ok x

He went today

Its best for him and I have to put him first, really, as he's the one sat on his own for 6 hours a day, 4 days a week.

I cried when DH packed his things this morning and again when he got into Mum's car - didn't say goodbye to him as the DC were in the car and I didn't wnat them to see me upset- I'll see him on Wednesday

It was the right thing to do.....for both of you....at least he's with your mum and you'll get to see him.....the house will feel quite empty for a while tho.
