I cannot get to the shop and DP is at Glastonbury so nobody around to pop out

Thought there was another pack of food in the cupboard but no!

Is it ok to give him some tinned tuna (in spring water)?

yes
although he'll probably not eat much of it

TheChicken · 27/06/2008 19:45

tuna

TrinityRhino · 27/06/2008 19:45

I'm no expert but that sounds like it would be fine

especially since it is in spring water

shinyshoes · 27/06/2008 19:47

I didnt think cats could digest Tuna properly? something to do with Mercury levels apparently

BabiesEverywhere · 27/06/2008 19:49

As a one off, a tin of tuna or salmon is fine cat food. Our cats love tuna, but due to the high levels of mercury they only get it once ion a blue moon.

ChasingSquirrels · 27/06/2008 19:49

our dog used to have baked beans when I ran out of dog food. probably not very helpful...

lou33 · 27/06/2008 19:50

i ran out today and mine made do with a raw egg til i could get to the shop

notnowbernard · 27/06/2008 19:52

Right, tinned tuna it is then. Will have to do until the morning when I can get to the shop

The only other alternative is sardines in a spicy tomato sauce or mackerel with a whole chilli pepper (probably not ideal)

Thanks all

He wolfed it down and licked the bowl clean

My cat loves tinned tuna. Have I been inadvertantly giving her mercury poisoning?
