Do the kindest thing and let him go?

TheWildZebra · 10/07/2026 18:29

Kindly, I think this is one of those instances where pts is more humane than further veterinary intervention. Xx

Zippidydoodah · 10/07/2026 18:29

I’m sorry if that’s harsh, but if you’re not managing to improve his quality of life, and he’s old, sad and miserable and in pain….

WisdomBiscuit · 10/07/2026 18:31

Have him put to sleep. You can be there and talk to him, give cuddles as he gently departs this earth.

Annie202 · 10/07/2026 18:48

Can you bring him home and spoil him for a day or two before asking a vet to pts at home? It is the last gift of love you can give him x

DramaAlpaca · 10/07/2026 18:58

It's time to let him go.

I see you've started another thread; you're going to get the same replies on that one as well.

Buildingthefuture · 10/07/2026 19:02

He’s 12 and he’s been in the vet for 4 weeks??? No, op. Absolutely not. Let him go, that is what I would do.

CelticSilver · 10/07/2026 19:06

Shame on that vet.

PopTart · 10/07/2026 19:09

Your lovely dog is obviously suffering and will be very confused. I would do the kindest thing by him and let him go. I am so sorry for you having to go through this. It is never easy, but a day early is better then the regret of a day too late. Sending you a hug.

Why are you not having him PTS? He’s suffering unnecessarily.

wtfhappenedtomeyest · Yesterday 14:26

As sad as it is the kindest thing to do would be to let him go

Just saw this, sorry to be blunt but put the poor dog out of his misery. You’re keeping him around for your own selfish reasons, which I can understand as it must be so hard to let go but you’re allowing him to suffer now

the vet is saying he could be on medication for weeks . they are not even saying it’s time which is really upseting . they are leaving it to me
