We are considers adopting a dog from here but i have seen some bad reviews, these are from 7+ years ago though so id like to know if anyone has had any recent experience with them?

i have also seen good reviews from fosters by the way but the bad reviews really got me nervous as they aren't a registered charity!

I'm pretty sure they're a scam.

I've had 2 dogs from them - definately not a scam if its the same group you're talking about. They've been nothing but supportive throughout and still remember my first rescue when I post about him. Both my dogs are sweethearts and I would very much go with them again assuming I was mad enough to add a third (which I'm not!)

Im just worried after seeing reviews of dogs not matching description or the temperament not being how they state 😩

Yes - thats the same one. I have 2 spaniels from them. Obviously, there are times when a dog doesn't work out with a family - but I think thats the same for any rescue. They have an active supporters and rescuers page and I've never really seen any issues raised other than in a supportive way. If you'd like the facebook link - please feel free to DM me.

They might be 'legitimate' (i.e. people have gotten dogs from them), but any organisation that doesn't have charitable status but re-homes dogs is dodgy as hell - as previous threads have demonstrated. The only reason a dog re-homing organisation does not register as a charity, is because it is for profit (tax reasons).

No one should ever be re-homing a dog through any organisation that is not registered. Your ability to take action if anything does (and it probably will) go wrong, is severely limited if the organisation isn't registered as a charity.

There are so many good charities in the UK - breed specific ones that will be able to give you a dog that specifically matches your home and lifestyle - I don't know why you'd go for one that is as dodgy as Epstein.

Adopting a dog from rescue is an amazing thing to do. But how do you know when a dog rescue isn't what it seems?

Edited

This is what makes me worry as their adoption fees are lower than some who are a registered charity so does make me wonder if there is something particularly dodgy going on! I will give that a read thank you ☺️

Whereever you decide to get your new friend from, I wish you lots of fun and nose boops!

Beffy598 · 09/05/2026 22:43

I've fostered for them for a year now and never had any issues. 8 different fosters and Wags' description of them have always been spot on, the team are always on hand any issues and really supportive. I would definitely recommend checking out their fosters and supporters page, there are thousands of people who've adopted on there and they can give you their honest opinions. I wouldn't let a handful of negative reviews out weigh the thousands of positive reviews on their fosters and supporters page.

@Beffy598We decided to adopt from another rescue, but I have seen a lot of positive reviews recently so hopefully anyone second guessing in future comes across your comment on this thread ☺️
