Any vets out there? I need some advice about my cat...

Hi, A bit of back ground to start:
He is 4 years old, neutered male short haired domestic mog, very much loved and spoilt rotten. Had a "coughing fit" kind of hacking episode late saturday night which we wrote off as a hairball that didn't appear. Nothing came up (which is fairly normal for him). Since then he has had a faster than normal respiratory rate (in comparison to his twin brother), his heart sounds faster than his brothers (significantly), his breathing is more of a ripple rather than an in out pattern (hard to describe sorry). Am I looking at losing him? He is a huge part of my life and I am distraught. My vet hasn't said much other than he needs to have further investigations i.e. xray + / - an echo tomorrow. I am distraught. Can anyone help?

Is he home with you, or at the vets overnight?

if he was in any immediate danger then surely they would be x-raying/scanning sooner than tomorrow? I'm sure if your vet thought it was very serious he would have warned you? Is it possible it can be something like cat flu or pneumonia? are his jabs up to date?

Sorry, not much help, but am trying to reassure you....albeit unsuccesfully, sorry

sorry I missed you last night tiggly, and i hope that your cat is doing OK. Has he had the x-rays yet? and has the vet gotten to the bottom of it all? Let us know

hi what happened with your cat?

i first thought of a piece of grass stuck at back of his nasal passage, quite common but horrid for the cat.

Please let us know his result.
